Errr... -Shizuka, the nurse, is right in that one of the complications of RA is anemia. If severe enough, the woman might actually need transfusions. The old man is the one who thought it was some bone marrow disease.

-Takashi is thinking of the transfusion of red blood cells, where people with type O have to receive blood from other type O donors. However, for transfusions of plasma, Shizuka and Hirano say the blood type doesn't matter if the recipient has type O blood. They're right.

is it just me or did the anime take a slightly different turn from the manga?

So far I have not noticed any change. I think the anime is doing a great job of replicating the story without adaptation decay. Perhaps it is the introduction of music and animation that changed the mood of the story. ...Or are you talking about the scene in episode eight where Saeko and Takashi run up to the overpass?

Yeah, that scene in episode 8. I think there was a situation like that in the manga, but at the same time I have a feeling it's new to me, so, yeah, I'm confused.

Heh, We were right this changes the order of events. While not Adaptation Decay this does differ by placing Takashi and Seako together at an earlier time. This makes the ATV an Ass Pull as well as giving Saeko a katana other than the one she had in the manga. I don't know about you but I am really glad the infamous "I'm getting wet!" line stayed intact.

It just bugs me to no end that when they're escaping the school, Rei is willing to abandon the rest of the students just because she hated Shidou. I get it Shidou is a Complete Monster, but what had the other students ever do to her to deserve such fate?

At that point, I think she believed that the other students would be able to survive, but she wasn't interested in working with Shidou, and there didn't seem to be a way to convince anyone else that he was bad news.

Besides, she only knew he'd held her back a year for bullshit reasons. That does not, on its own, equal Complete Monster.

hm, running away on foot with hordes of zombies at their back, yeah, i can see they have a very high chance of surviving. plus, just because Shido held her back a year, it means the helpless students can just die as collateral damage. I mean we are not just talking about Shido himself here, her mentality just completely bugs me.

There's a decent chance she was already aware of his assholery. Does one of your students spraining his ankle, asking for help and then being face-stomped count for monsterdom? How about brainwashing your other students to the point they had an endless orgy on the bus, and convincing those students to throw the one not brainwashed out to his death? Monster yet? Or him making Rei feel like the evil one when she stood up to him directly? Eh, it'll happen eventually. About the first thing, it's not that he abandoned the student, but how he did.
