So, I was just thinking of other movies with this kind of scene, and I come up with Carnosaur II and Manticore. Both are monster movies (that I saw on the sci-fi channel) that end up with helicopters crashing because a monster somehow snuck into the back seat without anybody noticing while the chopper was parked in the middle of the desert. I gotta wonder how many of these movies were made by a guy who really liked Aliens.

Well yeah, I created the trope page, was just idly wondering how many movies have some kind of airborne version of Danger Takes A Back Seat, and how many of these came out after Aliens.
Uh, guys, this trope isn't just about Helicopters crashing in circumstances in which they wouldn't normally do—it's also about the tendency for helicopters to be shot down, crash, and destroyed with egregious frequency in media due to various reasons (including and especially Rule of Cool).
