In Captain Earth, Daichi gets rather flustered whenever someone called him, Captain. Mainly due to the figurative weight of the word.
In the Fullmetal Alchemist manga (and therefore Brotherhood), the second Greed tends to correct people whenever they call him Ling. In fact, Ed remarks it's too confusing for him to tell which is which, and therefore calls him Greedling. Greed is not happy about this.
Cruz from NEEDLESS is called "Yamada" by Eve who is bad with names, which annoys him and immediately states his name. Teruyama gets the same treatment, ending up with "Uchida".
Komari from Non Non Biyori doesn't like being called "Koma-chan" by her Big Little Sister because she finds it belittling because of her short stature, since "-chan" is an honorific mostly used for children. What's ironic is that the suffix actually fits her.
Played for Drama in Spirit Circle. After successfully building a sphinx, everyone in Flors' hometown started calling him Father Sphinx, much to his annoyance since he was dissatisfied with his sphinx. This made him miserable for his entire life.
Upotte!!. Jiisuri/G3's little sisters HK And MP don't like being called Chuu-3 and Chi-3 respectively due to the fact they don't like being compared to said big sister.

Indiana Jones objects to the nickname "Junior", but goes by the nickname "Indiana".
The psycho-comedy High Anxiety by Mel Brooks has his character, Richard Thorndyke, PsD encounter his old psychology teacher. Thorndyke greets him using a mnemonic for his name: "Professor Little Old Man!" The elderly psychologist swats at Thorndyke irritably, correcting him: "Lilloman! Lilloman!" The mnemonic would be excusable in a psyche student, but he expected better from a colleague.
In The Dresden Files, the Archangel Uriel objects very emphatically to Harry calling him Uri, mostly because the "el" part is what notes his angelic nature. He does not, however, object to Mr. Sunshine.

Dist, from Tales of the Abyss, absolutely hates his code name "The Reaper" due to its inelegance and demands to be called "The Rose" instead. Unfortunately for him, his demands fall on deaf ears.

- In the Avatar: The Last Airbender sequel the Legend of Korra, Aang eventually gets annoyed at Toph's refusal to drop the nickname Twinkletoes.
- In Lilo & Stitch: The Series, everyone (but especially Gantu) refers to Dr. Hamsterviel as "Dr. Hamster Wheel." He always corrects this. (He's really more of a gerbil, anyway.)
