Some of the examples seem to be assuming a lot or taking one vague interpretation and running with it. I thought it was a story about revenge, or otherwise vigilante "justice" if she was lying about knowing the girl. If she were a man or something it seems like she'd be considered a badass vigilante antihero instead of a psychopath who's a complete monster and loves to torture and kill.

There is no such word as "hebephile". Patrick Wilson's character is a pedophile, simple as that. Stop with this pretend word nonsense please.

I had a crazy idea earlier, what if none of the movie was real? What if it was something that played inside his head as he jumped off the roof (or before). What if Hailey was his manifestation of the anger and disgust that he feels at himself for doing what he's done?
