The page image inevitably makes me think of Sherlock Holmes (the original, as portrayed a zillion times). Not 21st century of course, but still a strong image. See The Great Detective and His Pipes. I haven't seen the BBC's reboot, but that page says "In a nod to our politically correct times, the modernized BBC version of Holmes, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, partaking of nicotine patches."
