Cut it for the above reason. Here it is:
- Moe the bartender looks like Randall from Recess as an adult. He's often acknowledged to be this in-universe as well, as he's been described as made of "cauliflower ear, lizard lips, little rat eyes, caveman brow and fish snout". It was even admitted in the commentary for "Pygmoelian" that due to this trope, few people care if he's drawn Off-Model.
is that tabletop game example valid? I'm not sure, it seems really borderline to me.
He's just this guy, you know? This trope has a serious issue. People are just listing characters they think are ugly. The trope itself is the idea that a character is made ugly through having a different artstyle than the rest of the show's. I say we send this to the Trope Repair Shop.
"Detecting trace amounts of mental activity. Possibly a dead weasel or a cartoon viewer" Hide / Show RepliesNVM. Will fix this myself
"Detecting trace amounts of mental activity. Possibly a dead weasel or a cartoon viewer"How come the Animal Crossing Villager from Super Smash Bros. 4 is Gonk? If you ask me it's quite the opposite, kawaii.
It's okay to be an idiot every once in a while. You don't have a choice, anyway. What is the inversion of this trope? (Only one character is beautiful while everyone else is ugly)
In the "other" example section, it says the name comes these troll dolls that are often referred to as gonks. They look like this◊.
What is up with the Nier example being constantly added and removed?
What about the opposite of gonk? A character that's so overly gorgeous they have a different design from other characters? I've seen that a few times, does it have a specific trope?

Regarding The Simpsons examples: Hans Moleman I get (especially with the Word of God that they intentionally made him as unappealing as possible), but Moe doesn't look very different from the other male characters, just a bit lumpier and a Perpetual Frowner. A Gonk shouldn't just be a character who's ugly, it's a character so ugly they could be a different species/art-style from the regular characters. The fact that Moe's ugliness is also listed on Informed Deformity makes me feel he doesn't belong in this trope.
