• Played interestingly in Transformers The Movie (that is, the 1986 animated one), where Optimus Prime and Megatron have their final battle. The result? They both die (well, technically, OP gets better later in the cartoon and Megatron is rebuilt as a mostly-different character, Galvatron), setting up for the movie's main plot. Although it would seem that Optimus would have had an edge if Hot Rod hadn't intervened, if indeed Hot Rod had stayed out of the way, Megatron still might have succeeded in his I Surrender Suckers tactic.
