Wasn't Jo Grant mentioned in a Colin Baker story (still a while ago, but definitely not "nearly 40 years" before The Sarah Jane Adventures story)? I think that's where the gardens of Karfel bit from SJA comes from.

I actually understood Advent Children just fine, and I've never played any FF games.
