This trope and Cat Folk, I really don't get why they both exist or why the descriptions go into such detail on what they are not when the concept seems rather simple (human/humanoid+cat) I say we just merge them under Cat Folk, for all cat people. It will be a related trope to Beast Folk, Animal Themed Super Being and whatnot. If you want to be really pedantic the page can still have a soft split between "individuals" and "groups" but as of now, the whole thing seems more complicated than it needs to be. Take the page image. She's from a game where most of the Cat Folk are men, looking through the Fire Emblem Tellius character pages just shows how silly it is to single out female examples of cat people. Even the page quote makes reference to a male example.

Gender-specific associations can be hard to convey. While I am not familiar enough with the tropes involved, this would be a Trope Repair Shop discussion.

Why was the head scratchers page locked and the discussion nuked?

Would Nepeta Leijon from Homestuck fit this? She isn't actually part cat, but her horns are shaped like cat ears and she's based around the zodiac sign Leo.

This troper is sooo annoyed by people constantly referring to instances of a person wearing cat ears as cosplay. I know [of] a girl who wears cat ears to school every day and doesn't even attract any comments because of it. This troper thinks that girls wearing a temporary set shouldn't be counted as Cat Girls.

Is this trope invoked when a normal human just wears a pair of cat ears on a headband or a hooded top and maybe a tail or fake whiskers? If so I'll add it to the Hello! Project page.
