Cut this from the reference to Hosni Mubarak: (a man who has been charitably compared to Dan Quayle)

because it's gratuitous flame bait, and also very unclear: how was Mubarak like Quayle? Did he make speaking flubs on camera often? He was a long-serving strongman rather than a one-term vice president, so the resemblance isn't obvious. Moreover, given that Quayle left office more than twenty years ago, a significant proportion of readers have no idea what this is supposed to mean.
