As for the eyeglasses SylviaSybil, I suppose that might count, but if we start adding that we might want to consider a rename for this page to include it.
Alright, I'll add the Narbonic example and if we start seeing more eyeglasses examples we can discuss that then.
Ignorance killed the cat. Curiosity was framed.Couldn't this be expanded to all facewear? Broken masks, eyeglasses and shades have a similar set of connotations.
What about unarmoured characters with full-face masks, like Hei from Darker Than Black? Do they count for this?
What's precedent ever done for us? Hide / Show RepliesIaculus, yes, I think that would count. It need not apply to only armored characters, just that I expect it would be most common among them.
Nice work on this page. Clear, clean description, concise explanation of why it is used. I just wanted to say that, (and I wanted to get the discussion page made.)
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it. Hide / Show RepliesThanks Madrugada. It seemed that all other tropes have a description of why they are used, so this should to. I am glad that it meets with your approval.

A quick google search shows that we don't have a trope for broken eyeglasses. I can think of at least one example when eyeglasses are used this way (the state of Dave's eyeglasses in Narbonic symbolizes the state of his sanity). Expand the trope description?
