Ace Combat Infinity, when it was online, would let you fight MOST of the previous mega-weapons from the other Ace Combat games in special raids. The Excalibur, the Aigaion with Gyges and Kottos, the SOLG, all accounted and present. The speed and level of all the participants would determine the level of the raid, being I, II, III or IV. The mission was a surprise until the lobby locked with all the participants inside. Being 8 players coop, it was much more thrilling.

The Kill Sat still promised to wipe a city as it crashed, which can be considered also a Colony Drop, with a timer to match. In fact all of them were timed, but this one was prominent, and I think it was a shorter time.

Can someone explain how this is an example? The trope is not "the enemy is a large ship," the trope is "the level IS the enemy." Gorf has you at the bottom of the screen and a ship at the top; it's bigger than usual, sure, but that's just because it's a Boss Battle. You're not fighting on or flying over or located within it.

Don't Bowser's flying battleships in Mario count?
