Hokay. This is going to be tricky. I have to admit that I too am deeply worried about Steph. (Slightly less so about Cass, since Morrison has stated Batman Inc is not dismantled and will start printing again circa March 2012. Let's all keep The Rule Of Cautious Editing Judgment in mind.

I'm wondering if this page should continue as a character page for the multiple characters who have born the mantle of "Batgirl," or if it should be converted into solely a work page covering the current ongoing Batgirl series.

I'm a huge fan of all the different Batgirl characters (Well, except for Bette Kane, since she's been out of publication since before my birth and the new Flamebird really shouldn't count, but you have to cut me some slack on that point), but I've got to wonder if it's necessary to include them all here. There is already a page that covers Batman's extended family of characters, and that includes all the tropes and history mentioned here, with much more detail beside (The Cassandra Cain section alone looks to be as big as the Barbara, Huntress and Cassie sections combined). Plus, everything on this page is all character tropes, drawn from dozens of different series and different decades, which is why we have character pages in the first place (To collect and orgaize all the disparate info that does not fit with any one series).

I think we should transfer the tropes for the various characters to the afore-linked character page and make this page a work-based page about the current ongoing Batgirl series.

I like it as is, though we could certainly use more work on the earlier Batgirls so the page isn't so lopsided.

As time goes on I'm starting to feel more and more that this page does need to be split into two, as it is it's five character sections and one series section and I think they don't mesh together very well. It's not because Stephanie's section is so much larger than the rest, it's that the content is so different. The other five sections are solidly character tropes, they describe the person who had the name "Batgirl" and that's it, but the Stephanie section describes the series "Batgirl," and it includes story tropes, character tropes for other characters, etc.

I'm not saying any info should be removed or deleted, but the creation of Batgirl and Batgirl, or just making one and leaving the other here, would make things much simpler and clearer.

I don't want to make this move unilaterally, so I'll wait a few days, but if I don't get any objections I am gonna take the plunge. Thoughts?

This should have had a Trope Repair Shop entry before doing such drastic surgery, but what's done is done.

Not "done;" anything can be undone (And I'm willing to undo the edits myself if it comes to that), but this page really was two separate pages smushed into one.

I haven't seen any other pages where there was such a clear subject divide between the sections, one section about somethig competely different than another. Like I said, it's not because of a size imbalance or because I like one Batgirl more than another, it's that one section was a work page, covering the writing style, artworks and events of a series, and the others were individual character entries. It was too out of whack.

Would you like to create the Trope Repair Shop now? We can still do it after a split was made and discuss it.

Also, like I said, I didn't delete anything, all the info is still here, it's just been moved to a dedicated character page.

What about the Allstar Batman And Robin "fucking" Batgirl?

What about her?

I have not read the All Star series, but if you are saying that it contains a "Batgirl" character, then yes, she should be included here. If it's just a different version of one of the aleady existing Batgirls then her tropes should be added to one o the present sections.

Given Frank Miller's Fallen Creator status (and deservedly so where All-Star Batman and Robin is concerned), any references here to his version of Batgirl must appear in a Darth Wiki. That is all.
