"A pillory of American Ultra-Conservatism played out on Rupert Murdoch's network."

I don't know why people find this so surprising. Rupert Murdoch may be conservative, but he's first and foremost a businessman. (and before people go: "But The Simpsons were forebade from making fun of Fox News!", that was another business thing - Fox News wanted to sue the creators of the Simpsons; and the last thing a businessman will do is let his own company sue itself)

Is there a trope that would fit "Complete Monster", but only part-time? Because Stan has his moments, some of them not only "Jerkass"-like.

Stan: "Boys, who would you say loves the calf the most?" Berry: "I do! Rosie calms my dark places." Stan: "Terrific. Than it'll be you who kills her." Berry: "W-what?!" Stan: "A man kills what a man loves, before it weakens him." Berry: "You can't make me kill Rosie!"

- Cut to headless veal being roasted on an open fire, boys sitting shocked nearby, Berry covered in blood -

Berry: "Her eyes said 'WHY?'!" Stan: "Yeah, you can still see the look of betrayal. Can't grill that off."

I think his Complete Monster tendencies only comes out when he is under the influence of something, like in that episode, Mad Cow-tainted beef jerky. Otherwise, he tends to lean more of a Jerk With A Heart Of Gold, since he learns from his mistakes.

I'm surprised we don't have a page for Best Episodes yet. My suggestions include "Star Trek", "Stan of Arabia, Parts 1 & 2", "Finances With Wolves", "Failure is Not A Factory-Installed Option", "Joint Custody", "Tears of a Clooney", "Black Mystery Month", "Tearjerker", "The Most Adequate Christmas Never Told", "The Phantom of the Telethon", "Escape From Pearl Bailey High", and "Meter Made".

I think Stan and Roger make a good foil for each other. Stan is law-abiding CIA agent even if he did break the law from time to time, while Roger does anything he wants for selfish gains.
