Why is it called an "Adam and Eve" Plot and not a "Noah" plot when he and his family were the ones who were saved when Earth was flooded to repopulate the planet and Adam and Eve were, instead the first humans?

You know, that is a good question now that I think about it. Maybe it's due to the fact that many contain only two people whereas Noah had 8.

Though I guess a Noah plot would involve a large boat, or maybe a spaceship, like in Wall-E.

If the two people were different enough wouldn't it be fine? I've never heard of a gene with more than four alleles. Can someone with more expertise fill me in?
