I suppose the little afghan cap and stuff on the page helps, but a lot of new tropers probably don't find this when they search for something similar, it's just too abstract. I was thinking something like Non Character Player or whatever.

I agree. It's impossible to know what the trope is about, or even having any ideas for what it means, without reading its page. Non Character Player, or something similar, works. The AFGNCAAP bit seems more suited to being in the trope's description.
