I propose to delete the Shout Out examples. First, the number of Shout Outs to the Beatles in pop culture is practically infinite. Second, shouldn't the Shout Out section be about shout outs by the band, rather than Shout Outs to the band? That is, Shout Out could list things like all the people represented on the "Sgt. Pepper" album, John's shout out to Chairman Mao in "Revolution", etc.

So I went ahead and deleted all the Shout Outs and replaced them with Shout Outs by the band. I think there's no limit to the number of examples you could list there if you list shout outs to the band from other sources. I also think it's more pertinent and more interesting to list things the Beatles cared about rather than a random collection of people and sources who found the Beatles interesting.

I made a minor edit to the picture caption (adding a line about Stuart Sutcliffe) but now the picture isn't showing up! Is it just me? What'd I do?

I just altered the statement on the Duophonic process to read "artificially" instead of "synthetically". It was misleading in at least two ways: 1) synthesis occurs in nature (plants use it), and 2) a mono-to-fake-stereo conversion process necessarily entails pulling the original apart so that different elements of it can be placed in different positions on the soundstage. That's not synthesis, that's analysis.

I just corrected the "What Do You Mean. It's Not Symbolic?" example, because (like most such examples, according to recent discussion on this trope) it was being used to mean the opposite of what it's supposed to mean (that is, it was used to mean "this work is packed with symbolism" instead of "this work is packed with superficial imagery which looks like symbolism, but isn't"). I altered "inverted" to "invoked".

However, I share the unease over this trope expressed in the discussion, that it's prone to misuse; there's a reason why double negatives are regarded as at best suspect grammar.

I've been kicking around the idea of either making pages for each Beatle to list the tropes of their solo careers, though it might be a bit redundant to do so; I've also considered just adding sections for them underneath the part about the band as a whole, though that might make the page very, very long. Which do you all think would be best? I can think of many tropes that would be listed under each solo Beatle's section/page (aside from Ringo), as each one has had quite…eventful solo careers (especially John and Paul). I ask your opinion on this matter both as a Beatlemaniac and a fellow troper.

I'm an idiot—I didn't see that a Lennon page had already been created (albeit one that needs some adjustments in its description portion). I suppose individual pages per person it is.

I thought the quotes section was getting overcrowded, so I added a new quotes page.

Wouldn't it be amazing if all the sons of the former Beatles started a band? Oh well. Worth a try.

Now, THAT is an idea. Dhani, James, Sean, and Zak! Generation Xerox at its best folks.
