I'm thinking about splitting the stuff in at least the Books/Games folders into their own page. Thoughts?

EDIT: Actually, since there's a lot of duplicate entries in the General/Books/Games folders, (plus the fact that the games and EU are becoming more integrated), I'm now thinking that we should first re-merge those sections, then split them again into A-Z pages.

I noticed a line in Halo: The Fall of Reach that had me thinking about something.

Here is the line: "Relax, we're supposed to be parents inspecting the school for our little girl."

Dr. Halsey says this to Keyes near the beginning of chapter two and since this line was in the original version of the book would one consider it to be foreshadowing, hilarious in hindsight, or both?

Without any further context, I can't really tell.

Some time after that line was said Halsey does have a daughter. Her name is Miranda as in Miranda Keyes. Sure the character may not have been thought of then but the fact that the quote was in the book back then seems to foreshadow what we know know about the relationship between Halsey and Keyes well . . . I added that tidbit to the foreshadowing part on the main page just in case. If anyone disagrees feel free to remove it.

It's not Foreshadowing since that definitely wasn't the intent at the time. The writer of Fall of Reach definitely wasn't privy to plot details from later games, if Bungie even thought of that that early. It's Hilarious in Hindsight.

Although In-Universe one can say it is foreshadowing. Like I said feel free to remove the edit if you think it needs removed.

Pulled, if only because it was put in incorrectly. But "In-Universe Foreshadowing" doesn't really... mean anything. Nylund didn't know about Miranda Keyes, and it's impossible to foreshadow something accidentally. Foreshadowing requires author intent.

I noticed that Reach has its own Funny, Awesome, and Tear Jerker pages, so I was thinking of merging them with those pages of the series in general (shouldn't be too hard), redirecting to that from each game, and sorting them. Okay?

I think we should add Wallbanger, as at the beginning of Halo 3 chief is shown falling from at least 2 km, impacting, and only getting knocked out for a little; but in the game he is subject to gravity barriers like a mere 20 foot drop

This page hs become unwieldy. Sees like we need to break it down. Probably by game, anime, expanded universe stuff. And Reach as a seperate section from Halo 1/2/3 given its status as a prequel, as opposed to part of an ongoing triology.

Do you mean split it up and folderise it, or make a new page for each installment?

Probably both. I Love Bees* could be greatly expanded, enough for its own article - and it stands alone/only shares some tropes with the others. Reach too it might be worth giving its own page. I'd keep the original triology as one sections, and split off the books into their own sub folder.

  • When I get some free time I'll throw something together for this. Maybe kick off the Reach page as well, before Beta at least.

Finally. It is done. I have divided the pages into things that span the whole universe, info found mostly in books, tropes found in Bungie's games, Halo Legends, and Halo Wars. Never in my life have I hated natter so much. Especially when it's about different media.

Some of the folders, however, ended up a tad too big. It might've been my poor judgement while organizing the pages, but some of the tropes jump all over the series. Another problem concerning the Halo Bungie Games folder, is that some of the tropes span not only the trilogy, but also cover Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach, so if you feel that they need to be separated, then please help.

It's a bit too night over here, and I'm too tired to check for mistakes, so once again, if you find anything, please correct it, mates.

I'll get some sleep. You have all ruined my life. <3

I wonder... could Halo: ODST count as a Reconstruction of both the Super-Soldier and A Space Marine Is You tropes, with the use of the Rookie?

The Player Character keeps his origins as a normal human that signed up (making it easier to get inside the shoes of an AFGNCAAP paratrooper than in the ones of a Super-Soldier that pretty much had no childhood and no choice), having seen the most hellish of battles, being only a rookie to the team, and with the ability to shoot his way through an entire city without the augmentations and equipment of a Spartan, not to mention keeping a sense of right and wrong somewhat independent of what the UNSC says.

It's just a thought that came up, after considering the differences between the Master Chief and the Rookie.
