Here's a question: I've never seen the movie so I need to know whether there were hulking monstrosities much larger than a human's body mass there.

Yes. Wilford Brimley turns into a huge one.

Would it be accurate to move this:

Mac Ready's character will destroy the game rather than lose it - which is what he does at the end of the movie, burning down the camp in order to deny the Thing victory. This was noted in an article in Script Magazine.

from the entry on The Computer Is A Cheating Bastard (where it doesn't really belong) to Taking You With Me ("The only problem is, this final attack is going to spell death for you as well as your enemies. But hey, you're going to die anyway! Might as well try to take some of them down with you.) " I haven't seen the movie, but doesn't him burning down the camp doom him to death?

Burning down the camp does indeed doom him. It is implied that MacReady and Childs will eventually freeze to death.

This needs a character page. Badly. I'm not savvy on creating whole new pages (it's probably easier than I'm making it out to be), and I'm parched for time, otherwise I'd do it myself.

re:cut

Namespaces and redirects do not work that way. A) You go for the most proper namespacing i.e. the film one. B) If something is being wicked then there is a clear need for it to be a redirect. People are using it, they expect it to be there, there's no need to make it difficult.
