Ok, my Bitter Sweet Ending comment for Inferno was deleted, and I rewatched the ending, and I see how that's an interpretation. However, I still think that the most logical viewing is mine: While he woke up in the same spot, he walked immediately out into his childhood bedroom, meaning that the room with the configuration was part of his childhood home. Yes, that could just be Pinhead fucking with him by sending him there, but then it wouldn't be a loop, would it? And why would he remember what it meant, if he was looping? His memory should be erased. So, instead, I read the ending as him being jolted by his suicide back into the real world, but now knowing what a horrible human being he is. Does anyone thing I'm stretching this too much, and going into WMG territory?

Frank has given the Cenobites the slip - he states early in the movie that he needs to leave the property as soon as he is reconstituted (btw why do a few drops of blood get him 95% of the way while he needs multiple bodies for the remaining bits?) and he is dismayed when Kirstie runs off with the summoning tool. But as soon as he has slipped on his brother's skin, he appears quite set on staying in the house even while his earlier fears have come to pass - the monsters are in the house. Does he believe the Cenobites will be fooled by his new skin suit, or what?
