I don't understand your question. What is necessary? This page? And what does animated films spawning franchises with a wide range of media has to do with it?
This "Other Media" page exists because each of the individual media gathered in it doesn't have enough entries to truly deserve their own individual subpages, but said media still need to have their fan works indexed somewhere.
If a single media on this page gets enough content to warrant its own subpage, it can be split. The subpage FanWorks.Theatre or FanWorks.Web Animation are examples of media that are just above this threeshold. On this page, "Toys" wouldn't be too far from it, but not quite there (it's missing fanfics, notably).
Is this necessary, cause even the Fan Works of the Animated Films page have franchises with all kinds of media?
