Should Firewall's name still be spoilered? It's starting to get a bit ridiculous referring to him as "the protagonist" all the time, so can we just treat it as a Late-Arrival Spoiler?
Hide / Show RepliesIt was never really even that big a spoiler in the first place, and comes up pretty early anyway; it'd be like if we spoilertagged "Pinkie Pie" in the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic page, since her name isn't revealed until late into episode 1. Hence why I un-spoilered all the sayings of Firewall on the page and changed every single "the protagonist" to "Firewall".
Kinda weird how this page still doesn't have an image attached to it. This fanart is currently being used as the cover image over at EqD, so it seems pretty appropriate that it be posted here as well. Also it seems like a caption to go along with it could work as well. Any opinions?
Edited by HeyListen Hide / Show RepliesI'm a bit disappointed at the state of the Funny, Heartwarming, Awesome, and Tearjerker pages. We have the material to fill these pages to bursting, yet we have yet to do so.
Hide / Show RepliesI think it's because everyone who visits those pages is like "Oh, this would fit here, but eh, someone else could word it better than me". So screw it, give me a few minutes and I'm going on a posting rampage!
Not So Stoic: It's poor form to include a trope only to have to define it in its entirety as spoilers.
Hide / Show RepliesHere's the offending element:
- Not So Stoic: In chapter 8, Firewall—who usually hides most of his more depressing thoughts through his eccentricity and general wackiness—breaks down after the Nightmare takes control of Celestia, only to be comforted by Luna.
Actually, including such tropes almost entirely spoilered out is a not entirely uncommon practice on this very wiki. Check out the Past Sins page if you have any questions...
However, I feel that this trope doesn't need nearly as much of it to be spoilered out. Fixing now...
Edited by BugsydorNot uncommon, but not welcome, either. The editing process specifically warns against excessively massive white blocks.
What's precedent ever done for us?I hear you about the white wall warning, but I think I despoilerfied it enough so it's acceptable. What do you think of it now?
How to read post "Luna Eclipsed": I honestly didn't pay much attention to fan depictions of Luna so my entire impression of her comes from her debut episode. The other characters I can "hear" somewhat, but Luna's lack of the Royal We or the (gonna say it) ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE almost breaks the immersion. Almost, I can still roll with the punches because this is an exceptionally good story. I'm just trying to invoke some Fridge Brilliance to get my memory recall to shut up. The best I can come up with is that the whole story takes place after nightmare night and Luna's finally starting to adapt.
