I think Canon Discontinuity applies now, since from what I know of Shadow Play, Starswirl banishing the sirens is portrayed in a completely different way in the show than in the comics

Last I checked, the policy was they were canon until contradicted by the show. Canon Discontinuity only applies to the sirens issue because it's the only one expressly contradicted.

The "Refections" arc may also be such if the episodes follow the latest comics claim of Starswirl vanishing before Luna's banishment.

I think, given the length of this page and the scope of its coverage of each individual issue, it's time to move the coverage to Recap pages. Did we want to organize them by story arc, or individual issue? I think the former would be better; tropes common to a story arc don't need to be listed on all of its issue pages, we don't need to split up tropes and re-read back issues to do so, and can just migrate the current folders to the Recap pages.

Yeah, with the amount of separate folders on this page, putting them on recap pages would be a good thing to clear things up, especially since they cover a lot of different stories.

Sorting by story arcs seems like a good idea. It's sometimes done for TV series too, although it's not a constant, but the comic book format is different, so it's normal to adapt it.

By story arc makes most sense to ensure there is enough content to warrant its own recap page. Since the comic compilations cover four issues apiece (the length of a large story arc), one recap page per four issue (including their side stories) Issue#29 is the odd one out in this system, so we could leave it, the annuals, and specials on the main page, unless they have a sufficient number of tropes and/or length to warrant their own page.

That said, my one question is how large is large enough to warrant its own page (trope/word count)?

Well, having done pages for Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V for months without anyone raising ire about recap pages being made with only a handful of tropes, I think these comics will be fine.

Okay, made the Recap page itself, if the organization and page names are good for folks, we can begin transplanting content over.

If no one objects, I'll get to it tomorrow.

Should we split the Shout out page to place the S Os on the specific recap pages?

Ferot_Dreadnaught Since: Mar, 2015

The recaps for the show have that episodes Shout Outs on each of it's pages, so feel free to add them there. Leave the Shout out page as is.

One the matter should My Little Pony: FIENDship Is Magic get recap pages? how many episodes/issues/chapters does something have to be to qualify?

I think this should be an "unmarked spoilers" page due to its doubling as a recap page, ditto for the spin-off series, any thoughts?

The continuity snarl entry was restored to the issues #5-8 folder. That arc did not reference any of the characters or events from Luna Eclipsed despite that episode being directly relevant. It's worth mentioning.

Continuity Snarl is for when events are contradicted as opposed to not referenced (there was not a point in the story where Luna Eclipsed was relevant), the one potential contradiction (Luna's appearance), gets explained in-universe.

I honestly believe that the main comics needs a Recap page. It's becoming insanely cluttered now.

What should we do with the Annual, and subsequent the announced Friends Forever?

The latter can get a separate article, I'm sure, but that still leaves the Annual as a weird issue to leave as a standalone. Yet, because it's EQG based (save for the Sunset Shimmer short), it might not even fit with these two.

Wouldn't the fact that it's an annual automatically make it part of the series?

Masem Since: Aug, 2010

That's true, though the fact its replacing the usual micro-comic spot this month makes it weird. But I'm all for treating it as a special issue of the main series (putting it in a header spot after the shorts, since itself it will be a collection or shorts).

Just realised that someone f**ked up the title for the main page. It says "My Little P Ony" instead of "My Little Pony". Anybody in favour of changing the title?

Why is the article "My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic IDW"? There has only been one publisher of the Fi M books to date. Do we expect the franchise to change publishers? (Or are we covering those vector comics at some point?)

I think it's to separate the subpages from the main FIM show's subpages.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

How does anypony know what happens in Issue 4 when it doesn't come out until tomorrow?

That being said... I'll be getting the comic in two days, but I want to know ahead of time... What happens to Larry (Shadowfright) and is there anything to suggest that the evil of Nightmare Rarity or the Nightmare Forces is still around, or by "vanished" did you really mean "vanished"?

Masem Since: Aug, 2010

I'd like to suggest that we can break off each arc into a separate recap page (not per issue); any shorts can be collected on a separate page, and same with the micro-series. We would leave this page to cover the generate adaptation as a comic and the covers.

I was just going to make the Micro-Series (since it is technically a separate series)) its own page once we got closer to the Twilight Sparkle issue coming out.

I'd suggest folderizing by Story Arc first before going straight to recap paging. This page didn't quite explode the way we expected it would (despite being very Troperiffic ), though we should probably make a Shout Out page for it. Seriously two issues in and look at the Shout-Out section! It takes up most of my screen!

Folderizing works as well too, and agree the shoutouts (as organized by arc) as a separate page would make sense too. (both Cook and Price admit to filling the issues with these)

I have a question: I haven't read the comic, but is it that the gem bins which tell them which color the gems are due to their dim-wittedness, or because dogs are supposedly color-blind?

Well, it's more to get the Bowie lyric in there, but the one case says "red like the jungle burning bright", so it still implies knowing color. (We've not seen any indication that the D Dogs in show are colorblind, though it would be natural to expect that.)

The plot synopsis of the first three issues take up 3/4ths of the page, are giant ugly blocks of spoiler tag, and generally just aren't needed. I think they should be removed and replaced with some general information on the plot. Any objections?

I actually plan on replacing the synopsis's when the first issue is out. Right now we don't know much about the plot other than "Changelings return!" I agree, it is ugly, though I'd like a little more information (other than a list of variant cover artists) before redoing the description.

Perhaps someone could make a Recap page upon which to put them. That should solve all of the problems while still letting them be on the site.

(I would do it, but I am not currently on a device that would let me easily do so.)

Can we do a recap page for a comic book series? Will each issue be so troperific that each issue warrents its own page like the show? Maybe we can do a "single recap page" like Young Justice (the cartoon, but still)

Now that it's out — uh, yes, Cook & co have filled the pages with tropes and call outs well beyond expected for a children's- based franchise. I'd estimated at least roughly 20-30 tropes within the first issue alone.
