As a Muslim and seeing the bacon jokes they've made, I'm surprised they haven't made a joke about turkey bacon yet. The stuff is delicious and actually a lot healthier than traditional bacon.
Hide / Show RepliesI am somewhat disappointed that they have not done a Ramadaan arc.
Hide / Show RepliesIt has been six issues, but only ONE WEEKEND (3-5 days) in-universe time.
She got her powers and saved Zoe on a Friday. She went to youth lecture on a Saturday. We didn't see what she did Sunday. She was back to school on Monday. Monday afternoon she foiled Vick's attempted robbery at the Circle Q. Monday night was her first attempt to rescue Vick. Monday night into Tuesday morning was her getting busted in the kitchen eating. Tuesday afternoon after school was her training montage. Possibly as late as Wednesday, but I doubt she and Bruno would've left Vick that long. Tuesday (possibly Wednesday) night was her rescuing Vick. Wednesday (possibly Thursday) was her making her big speech in front of the Circle Q. Issue 6 could be anytime after that. So we've had almost a week of in-universe time.
They haven't had a chance to get to Ramadan yet. It's still late winter, early spring.
Edited by 71.199.162.168I want to say something about #4: the thug at the end of the issue has not yet been confirmed beyond a doubt to be The Inventor. The other henchmen so far have only referred to him as Doyle, and the implication is that he's simply in charge of guarding the house and Vick. Let's at least wait until #5 before we can say for sure that he's the Big Bad or not.
Edited by 108.52.230.169Mood Motif: usually Mood Motif is an auditory trope for a medium which contains actual music. I'm not sure the example used is a correct application, but I'm not sure what trope is a better fit.
Slipping a Mickey: technically she is tricked into a drugged beverage, but in the trope's usage, it usually means someone drinks something that knocks them unconscious or incapacitates them. Neither happened to Kamala. Her incapacitation and unconsciousness came from the Terrigen Mists. Again, not sure what would be a trope better fitting.
Thoughts?
Hide / Show RepliesNot sure what the question is. Either example seems incorrect by your argument, though.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe definition for Slipping a Mickey just mentions the sneaky delivery, it doesn't say that for the trope to apply the person needs to actually be incapacitated. The trope definition itself even points out that often the victim can avoid actually drinking the beverage through disposing of the drink.
The entry for 'Character Shilling' sounds pretty biased, and honestly like a pretty blatant example of character shilling itself.
Clean it up and move it to YMMV tab?
