merely a personal curiosity - what's the pun in 'Ivan, you idiot'? Honestly - I've never seen a pun there and now I'm dying to find out what it is.

Ivan the idiot, or the fool, is apparently a figure in Russian folklore.

What is it with Miles saying Vor are a "warrior caste not an aristocracy"? What does he think an aristocracy is? How many aristocracies were NOT warrior castes? A few(Sumerian kings ruled by their control of water so might be counted as a plumber caste rather then a warrior caste). But most aristocracies are warrior castes.

That's the point, though - the definitions may overlap, but they're not identical.

I think that people are going overboard with their spoiler tags. For example, nearly every reference to Mark being Miles' clone-brother is spoiler tagged, but then there's an entire section on Mark Pierre Vorkosigan which plainly states he's Miles clone.

And then there are all those places where people have marked how Ekaterin is going to become Lady Vorkosigan as spoilers, and again, even if you haven't read anything past Komarr it's pretty obvious who she's going to end up married to.

Maybe we should just leave the warning at the beginning that there are lots of spoilers to follow, and get rid of most of the spoiler tags in the body of the page.

I'd agree with a blanket spoiler warning for the page and revise all entries to be as "current" as practical (i.e. discussion/description compatible with the most recent books). The only spoiler I would explicitly use the tag on would be declaring Miles and Ekatarin as Count and Countess Vorkosigan.

I would also move Ekatarin to "House Vorkosigan", and rename "Other Barrayarans" to "The Barrayaran Empire" and move Duv Galeni there. (Enrique Borgos' status is a little more nebulous, but on balance I'd move him as well.) Expatriate Barrayarns (Baz and Elena) can stay separate, and this may also scatter the "Enemies" list by planet of origin, but I'm pretty neutral about that wrinkle.

Looking at the brief bios for several characters (in particular Miles), I find myself wanting to extend them to include more recent (at least through A Civil Campaign) events. Are there any strong objections to this?

I am also tempted to reorganize the categories slightly; "The Vorkosigans" shifts to "House Vorkosigan" to include non-family members directly connected with the household. (Primarily Armsmen, along with Ma Kosti and maybe Tsipis.)

When I was making the character page initially, I was going for breadth rather than depth, and as such felt that I short-changed a whole bunch of characters by giving the bare minimum in their bios. It was my fond hope that somebody would expand on my half-assed little bios, so please go right ahead!

And if you'd like to reorganize the categories, that's probably going to work better as well. I'm thinking we may need more categories anyway; for example, the Cetagandans. Definitely *former* enemies, but by the time we get around to "Cetaganda", they're not really overtly in that class any more...yet.
