It's come to my attention that the page is getting pretty bloody long, and though this is great in my opinion, it takes a whole lot of scrolling even when divided into folders and might get a bit overwhelming for newcomers.

Does anyone think it's time to divide it into separate pages? If it were split up, I thought maybe a good way to do it would be by which game they made their debut in, though admittedly this would split the clans/armies up.

In regards to the "Even Evil Has Standards" entry for Ishida Mitsunari, does anybody know what route you have to play to get that cutscene/ending? I'd really like to see it myself but I've played his story mode so much that I've got him at max level and STILL haven't seen that scene.

Maybe the original poster, or anybody who has seen that scene can help me?

But... Yukimura is the more prominent character. :( This way it seems like he's secondary to Shingen. IMO it'd be easier if the groups were simply named "Date army," "Takeda army," "Uesugi army," etc. - yes, Shingen leads the Takeda army but Yukimura does eventually take over, temporarily or permanently, both in the games and in the anime. Plus, he does more work as a soldier.

(And besides, IMO Yukimura deserves to be first place...)

However, Shingen is the leader of both the Army of Kai and the Takeda Clan. Sticking to "Leader of the Army" or "Leader of the Clan" gets listed first, Shingen should by all rights be listed first under the Takeda Clan.

Plus, wouldn't you agree that Yukimura himself would have it this way?

Maybe, but Yukimura would also insist on putting the Takeda first, and he'd natter on at length about how awesome Shingen is until a mod banned him. ^^;;

Thing is, characters tend to be listed in order of importance, not according to in-universe rank. It's just weird to see one of the poster boys since the first game getting listed as second in his group simply because he's not the boss (even though he gets to be the boss eventually). I mean, by this logic shouldn't the Toyotomi go before the Date and the Takeda? I haven't conducted a huge research on this, but from what I see Yukimura tends to head Takeda character listings because, well, he's Sanada Yukimura, a main character, poster boy, Masamune's rival, etc.

I want to argue that in Sengoku Basara 3 (a.k.a. Samurai Heroes) that Ieyasu Tokugawa is ABSOLUTELY NOT a Lightning Bruiser. He has the strength and defense, yes, but he does not, in ANY way, attack or move quickly. His running speed is the same as everyone else's. His normal attacks necessitate slow movement to get real, notable attack power out of them. His BASARA attacks are used stationary and/or hit slowly - with only one exception. Even his Super-BASARA (or whatever it's technically referred to) has him slowly moving forward. As I understand it, Lightning Bruisers have high attack, defense, and speed. Does Ieyasu really qualify if he's ponderously slow? Even his dashing-attack involves slow startup and a slow recovery, while not covering much ground. Secondarily, it's not fair to say "but he does have speed, look at that one BASARA attack where he throws Fist-of-the-north-star-esque punches!" when that's only one move out of the entire play set.

How can Ieyasu be a Lightning Bruiser if he completely lacks the Speed aspect? As far as I'm concerned, he's a Mighty Glacier more than anything else (except Extremity Extremist, of course).

Is it Okay Should add some tropes for the Characters's Stage. Like Date's Dragon Race, Motochika's Spider Tank and "Fun House", Motonari's Sun Mirror, Tsuruhime's High Jump and E'd?

Hmm, this page is more to do with characters, so maybe it would be better to keep the Stage tropes on the main page? But if you think it works better your way, then by all means go ahead.

Well, I was Just asking, I wasn't really going to add some anyway.

Hm, is "clan" an official choice? I mean, Yukimura, Kojuurou, Mitsuhide, etc. don't technically belong to the Takeda, Date, Oda, etc. clans, they're retainers with clans on their own. So unless it's official I don't know if it's a good idea to call the groups clans... (Then again, this is Sengoku Basara.)

Dammit, my internet failed, so I have to write this all over again...

Anyway, I said I think it's better than just leaving it as it was, it's just a name and could be confusing for those who don't the series. I did consider putting "army" instead of "clan", but that seem even less accurate since not everyone actually fights as part of the same army.

Feudal Japanese clans didn't just consist of the head and their extended family, they also included the vassals who served them and their families. Samurai served their masters down through the generations, and very often they became further related through marriage and adoption. Didn't matter whether they had a different last name or lived in a separate castle, if you served another lord you and your clan were automatically part of their clan. It makes sense to me.

And yes, it is official, it's mentioned a lot in the games. Also, bear in mind that nothing about about Mitsuhide or Kojurou's families is mentioned, and that Yukimura was effectively adopted by Shingen.

Yeah, this is what meant by "this is Sengoku Basara". In any case I was just wondering, either way is fine with me.

On a different note, Sasuke and Kenshin are not looking like themselves... something happened to the image files, someone who has the originals should reupload them.

There's been problems with images lately where the image urls are getting screwed up. I'm guessing Fast Eddie fixed it.

So Capcom keeps the long 'u' in Fuuma's name, but not in Kojuurou's?

This makes no sense. (And why did they have to swap the name order??)

Btw, I just noticed... is it just me or does Masamune really have a slit pupil?

I got the official spellings from the 2011 calendar. Kotaro wasn't on there so I don't know if there is a long 'u' or not.

I think it's safe to assume we won't be using the western order or spelling if we can help it. It's not very popular.

Yes, it does appear that way doesn't it? He's not the only one, Mitsunari has them too as does Mitsuhide.

I looked at the official site and it says "Fuma" with a short "u", so at least they were consistent. But they write "Saika" as "Saica"...

From the closeups on the official site Mitsunari appears to have normal pupils, but Masamune retains the slit one. It doesn't show Mitsuhide's eyes, though. I wonder if we should add Hellish Pupils to their respective trope lists...

Yes, that's the Samurai Heroes way of spelling, however the calendar is Japanese (so you could say they're the official romanised ways of spelling the names). Magoichi's last name is spelt "Saika" on the calendar, and both Motochika and Motonari's last names have a long 'u' in them.

Aha!

Still, Chousokabe and Mouri get to keep the long vowels but Ootomo and Kojuurou don't? Consistency is not their strong point...

Since no one has replied to the main discussion, I'll try it here.

I've been thinking, would it be a good idea to create an page exclusively for the anime? The games and anime have so many differences, and I feel sorry for the anime tropes squashed down there at the bottom. It's not like we don't have enough to work with.

What does everyone else think?

Should we really be listing the Area Warlords if we don't have any information besides their names?

I'm thinking of adding images for the SB 3 characters on the character page. The major hurdle here is that I don't think they have any 2D portraits, so I'd have to go with the 3D renders of them. With that in mind, should I:

1) Change all the character images to their most recent 3D renders

2) Use the renders for new characters, but keep the current images for the rest

3) Forget adding new character images all together.

I pick A, use 3D renders for everyone, especially since the current picture from Heroes are rather old. However some characters don't have new CG renders. What will happen with them?

I was thinking of using SB 1 or SB 2 renders for them. Not a perfect solution, I know, but I think it would work.

Well if so then SB 2 renders would best, since they are higher quality and more up to date than those from the first game. However the Battle Heroes ones are even newer and everyone has one of them. That's a possibility.

Okay, I've got images for about half of the characters (including Mr. INVINCIBLE! Kanetsugu, interestingly enough) I need ones for Shingen, Nouhime, Ranmaru, Nagamasa, Hideyoshi, Hanbei, Itsuki, Zabii, Yoshimoto, Hisahide, and Kennyo (If anyone could direct me to some good SB 2 renders, that would be awesome). I'll put 'em all up once I get them all.

On a side note, I'm debating whether to use the SB 2 or SB 3 renders for Ieyasu and Mitsuhide (or both. Both's an option) on the basis that their appearance changes significantly between the games.

DONE! I'm kinda wary about Mitsuhide's possibly being a spoiler (though it's specifically labeled as his render rather than Tenkai's, which is why I still put up), so if anyone can find a SB 2 render, feel free to replace it.
