I'm not sure the current description of Chrollo's motivation is accurate; at one point he tells Neon that his motivation is "to start a revolution on behalf of the dead" (whatever that means).

The translation I saw, of what I'm assuming is the same line, said something about wanting to know the wishes of the dead, IIRC. But there was another scene where Gon was demanding to know Chrollo's motivation for. . . I don't remember what, but I'm pretty sure the answer was along the lines of "Huh. I hadn't thought about it that way before" or something..
The translation actually had it that Chrollo did have a motivation that he knew himself but had never thought of putting it into words. In other words, it's not easy for him to explain. Especially not to a 12 year old boy.
Nearly all the characters have Life Energy - Nen (with few subparagraph). Considerated that it is a generic trope is not better move this to main page and remove from all the characters page?.
