Technically, since people thought Coulson wouldn't return, it did start out as Killed Off for Real, but it ended up becoming a subversion.
Hide / Show RepliesUm, why do all of the character pages lead to dead links all of a sudden?
Hide / Show RepliesI don't know, there are a bunch of redirect pages to new trope pages. Honestly its just a mess.
I think spoilers from season one need to be unhidden, otherwise certain characters (like Ward) are going to have pretty much all white entries. There is precedent for this with shows like Arrow and The Walking Dead.
Hide / Show RepliesNobody responded to this, so I figured I'd expand a little more on what I think needs to be done and hope somebody replies.
1. All spoilers from Season 1 need to be unhidden. Ward's entry is basically unreadable with all the hidden text, and from the exposed spoilers it is obvious he is evil.
2. Ward should be moved to Project Centipede.
3. Garret and the Clairvoyant entries should be merged.
4. Project Centipede should be listed as a subsection of Hydra.
5. Raina should be moved to the other characters page, since she is no longer associated with Hydra.
Edited by 72.213.137.321: Pretty much, yeah. Throw in a warning at the top of the page that there are unmarked spoilers for season 1.
2: Agreed, but leave a folder with an entry here saying "please see his entry on Project Centipede".
3: I disagree. Leave entries for Garret (as he appeared) here, and the Clairvoyant as a separate entity. They're effectively different personae.
4: Agreed.
5: Sure.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.3. Are they? Most of what is listed under the Clairvoyant's entry are tropes directly related to Garret after The Reveal, including tropes related to his training of Ward and his death. The Clairvoyant was just a codename for him, not an entirely different personality.
I'd like to propose we finally make a HYDRA character page. The second season's antagonists are pure HYDRA as opposed to being a front for Centipede.
Hide / Show RepliesAgreed, though I would think with Centipede being part of that HYDRA sub-page. Of course I could be wrong.
I would agree with it being part as well.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'd like to propose moving Garret and Ward to the Centipede/Hydra page. We know that Garret isn't coming back from the dark side and I doubt Ward will without a redemption equals death moment. In addition the promos have sufficently advertised both Garret and Ward as bad guys now, so there's no need to keep the masquerade going.
Hide / Show RepliesI don't think that's wise. Both are still Walking Spoilers so keeping them on their relevant subpages and getting rid of the more spoilerly tropes is the best solution.
I think they do need to be moved. Blocking out spoiler info for a little while is one thing but we need to decide how long do we keep them on their subpages. I say after the end of the season we start moving characters around to their proper place.
At the same time, should Triplett be moved to Team Coulson? Obviously we haven't reached the end of the season yet, but assuming he lives - this is a Whedon show, after all - it looks like he's replacing Ward as The Big Guy.
At this point I think we should change the Centipede group to HYDRA since its been shown that Centipede was just a subdivision of HYDRA. Also maybe move some of the characters around now that their true loyalties have been shown.
I'm curious how long we can keep adding one-episode characters here.
Hide / Show RepliesI thought that was weird from the get-go.
It'll eventually need to be its own page.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Well Mike Peterson is coming back, so that opens the door for an "Other characters" sub-page in the future.
Is it just me or is Skye not that much of an audience favourite? I'm seeing posts like this one cropping up all over facebook. https://www.facebook.com/CarpeClunes/posts/656212227736014
Hide / Show RepliesBecuase a single facebook post is relevant here. Yeah, really something the Characters subpage needs to take note of.
Is the snotty attitude really required? The OP said they've seen more than just the one post, and she hasn't been very popular over on Tumblr either.
Well, Audience Reaction tropes go on YMMV, not character pages. I made a discussion thread about her there... I think she's a contender for The Scrappy.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I'm thinking we need to merge Fitz and Simmons into a single entry. They already have a lot of duplicate tropes spread between them, and they are referred to as a single character in-universe pretty often. Plus, there's precedent with similar examples of Those Two Guys on other character pages.
Hide / Show RepliesI just doubt they'll stay The Dividual for long. As soon as one of them gets their Day in the Limelight it'll be tough to keep them as one unit.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Personally, I doubt that, but it doesn't matter. Obviously they're two separate people, but groups that are similar enough to have nearly identical trope lists are often merged. See Characters.Girl Genius has Da Boyz, the Generals, and the Heterodyne Boys, Characters.Gunnerkrigg Court has Zimmy and Gamma, Red and Blue, Cooke and January, Characters. The Legend Of Korra Enemies has Desna and Eska...the list goes on.
Currently, they have a grand total of two tropes that don't apply equally to both of them: Ditzy Genius for Fitz, and Nightmare Fetishist for Simmons (and Simmons is pretty ditzy too). Even their character descriptions are identical. I see no value in keeping them separate.
Personally I see no reason to really worry about it until the sheet gets long enough that duplicate tropes are worth worrying about, TBH.
They should b merged because it's silly to have two nearly duplicate entries, not because of page size.
Can we get some other opinions on this?
I'd say keep them separate for now. We're only 2 episodes in and I doubt their characters won't be fleshed out in the future, so it'd be wasteful to merge them now only to split them up again a few episodes later. Keeping the duplicate entries isn't hurting anyone so far, and if they really stay essentially the same character throughout the season, we should again consider combining the entries.
Right, I'm going to delete the Five-Man Band tropes fro the Agents Of SHIELD TV characters becuase they aren't a straight example. You can't have 2 people as The Smart Guy and one person be The Chick and The Sixth Ranger for example.
Edited by 71.241.255.226 Hide / Show RepliesConsidering that Fitz and Simmons are The Dividual, I think this is a case where you can have 2 people as the Smart Guy. And Skye being the Sixth Ranger isn't quite the case anyway.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, those tropes can be used individually even if there isn't an overall Five-Man Band. Someone can obviously be The Smart Guy or The Leader or whatever of a team even if there's only 3 or 4 characters or whichever.
Edited by 74.67.22.81Yes, you can have multiples of the component tropes. It's Five-Man Band as a whole that has the problems; the rest are fine. I'm gonna add them back.
I think we need to move characters who aren't in the tv show back to Characters.SHIELD. For characters that show up in both the cinematic universe and the show (like Coulson), we can give them a folder, but the folder points people to Characters.Agents Of SHIELD.

I'm not sure if unbolding Giyera was intentional. Has he appeared somewhere else since AOS? Just checking.
