In re "Nishizumi Kojiro, a famous tank hero during the Sino-Japanese War."
I have changed this to 'tank commander' considering the atrocities committed by the Japanese in that war. This may be inappropriate, so please revert if so.

Chaps, a Question: do the Boarding School and/or Elaborate University High apply to the school ships? I mean, they are so huge that they can easily conduct Sensha-do practice sessions in them. And most probably, most of the cast hail from some parts of the city where their school ship hails?

Requesting that we make a new page for the Ribbon Warrior manga; while it still concerns a similar premise as the anime (along with some continuity nods), there needs mention about some tropes only applicable to this.
My suggested target time: Probably after Chapter 4 (story is now at two chapters, both with substantial amount of pages.)

You can create it yourself. Asking others to do it does not in my experience work.

Permission to create a separate page for the Shown Their Work entry; saw the details for the said trope, already too long...

I made a Crowning Music of Awesome page
but I don't know where I should link to it on the main page. How does this usually work?

Both Kuromorimine and Black Forest Peak are being used throughout the pages, which one should we stick with for consistency's sake?
I favor the former, since everyone in the show uses that.

Speaking of which, we should switch to the OFFICIAL translation of sensha-do:
BD 5 uses panzerfahren.

The page is starting to get a bit fat with gushing. The Shout-Out, Shown Their Work and Show, Don't Tell tropes are getting too long.
The character page might also have descriptions that are overlinked.

Please, let's keep the arguments about if the Sherman was a good or a bad tank out of here. The only thing relevant for the example where Alice rants about "Shermans being the best tanks, ever" is that she DOES say that and that she IS exagerating her tank's virtues to ease her fears. Deleting that is like censoring Mark Twain's use of the word niggers. If there is a context in which a quoting a racial slur is perfectlly aceptable but quoting an opinion about an inanimated object in the same context is not, then it's time to reevaluate our priorities...

What argument(s)? I only removed that bit because it didn't seem like it was related to the Foreshadowing to me, other than being said/ranted by the same person.

Someone with access to Japanese TV should edit the Chekhov's Volcano entry as soon as the episode is aired and we know if it was a Trolling Creator or PURE CONCENTRATED AWESOMENESS!
(ahem)
Albeit I strongly suspect it shall be the former...
Edit: It was the former.

I added a rather lengthy note explaining what would happen IRL with a certain implausible-looking Absurdly Powerful Student Council scene. I'm adding here where it belongs (instead of in the page - that would be Troper Tales) a note that I happen to have first-person experience in those matters; not out of self-importance, but rather, to justify it's not an Ass Pull on my part (because everyone can look military data about tanks in Wikipedia, but not everyone has had to negotiate with their Ministry of Education while being in high school - actually just 25 years ago. Google "spanish 1987 students protests" and you might find some results).
It really amazes me the ammount of Shown Their Work and of Show, Don't Tell in this series, and not only in military gear!
edit: Oops, dates >_<

Should there be a 'Girls und Panzer' with a redirect to the Anime/ page? This should get the 'main' button up on the sub-pages, allowing easier navigation from those pages. Also, would allow for the creation of a disambiguation page if there ends up with seperate pages for manga/ or (assuming it comes into existance) videogame/ and such.
Yes I know that any Girls und Panzer links should be redone to Girls und Panzer, but for those who aren't as familiar, this would cut back on unnecesarry page creations and excess redlinks.
Just my thoughts...

Since there are both an anime and a manga, it would be logical to do so. We would have to do some maintenance on the page to move the anime-only and manga-only references to their respective pages, though.

I'm actually curious about why the main Girls und Panzer is blank and locked...

Made what was aparently a YMMV entry in the main page to adress the fact that this series uses a narrative technique that is BOUND to cause Missaimed Fandom, rather than to comment on the Missaimed Fandom itself. Then, less than a minute after doing it, I realized that said fact was best covered under the not-YMMV Viewers Are Geniuses and moved it myself. Should we move the specific examples to the YMMV, or should we leave under Viewers Are Geniuses itself?
Edit: If there are no objections, I'll duplicate the entry a it is now in YMMV under Missaimed Fandom, and leave in the main page just references to it

possibly stupid question, by why is the Main/GirlsUndPanzer page blank AND locked? shouldn't it exist and redirect to the Anime/GirlsUndPanzer page?

The Absurdly Powerful Student Council isn't a jerkass. Miho thanks them in EP 7 for making Tankery much more fun than it was at Black Forest. Anzu Kadotani, the student council president, gets things done. She got Ooarai's Tankery team going. She drafted Miho because Miho has Tankery experience. She put the right people in the right tanks. When the girls are first cleaning and repairing the tanks, they're worn out, and Anzu has the Vehicle Club finish the job for them overnight. When the girls are lost in the ship, she has a map of the ship ready. That's competent senior officer behavior - give your people a task, get out of the way, and be ready with support resources if needed. Anzu's carefree, lazy thing is a management style. Miho, who is a hands-on leader, gets this and now gets along with Anzu.
There's some strong reason Ooarai needs a Tankery team, and the student council knows it. We'll find out in a few weeks.

The "special carbon coating lining the interior of the participating tanks" is referred to as "unobtanium" in some blogs. It's probably a spall liner. When a round hits armor but doesn't penetrate, the shock wave propagates through the metal and can spray chips of metal on the inside. Modern tanks have a spall liner made of some very strong material. Kevlar is popular, with fiberglas and carbon fiber also used. WWII tanks didn't have spall liners; the materials weren't available. Tankery tanks apparently have been retrofitted so the girls can survive better.
Given the level of technical realism in this anime, I suspect that the "carbon" term is a poor translation of more exact Japanese.

Five-Man Band was added without examples. I couldn't think of any character fitting The Lancer job, and even giving The Big Guy job to Yukari as being the most tomboyish of the girls is a stretch, so I've moved the trope here so the original troper can justify the trope.

Try Yukari as the Lancer, her tank enthusiasm contrasting with Miho's reluctance. Tall and elegant Hana can fit as the Big Girl.
Leader (Commander): Miho Nishizumi. Reluctantly accepting leadership.
Lancer (Loader): Yukari Akiyama. All round tank enthusiast.
Smart Girl (Driver): Mako Reizei. The anemic academic.
Big Girl (Gunner): Hana Isuzu; tall and elegant with a gentle demeanor... when not firing live ammunition.
Chick (Radio Operator): Saori Takebe; excellent communicator and boy chaser.

I've added the crews/tanks themselves as a FMB by proxy, because that's how they behave when acting as units in battles. Anglerfish being the hero, Turtle being the second in command, Hippo being the knockout punch, Duck being always the one using wit not brawn for the not-quite-combat duties (scout, decoy, etc...), and Rabbit behaving like what it is: a tankfull of moe schoolgirls.

Cleaned up the Expy entry for several reasons
a) In the first example, Kyouko from Rail Dex wasn't a good match with the prez neither in personality nor in looks. About the only thing they have in common is arrogancy and twin tails.
b) More of Shout-Out than expy. Moved and expanded there.
c) The crew has in common with the K-On club that they're five girls in High School in the same club. Not good enough for expyhood.
