What's the deal with the "KJDGFNIHDTEGHDF" troper? Is he a vandal or troll?
Hide / Show RepliesVandal.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhy aren't Administrivia pages like this locked to prevent repeated vandalism in the first place?
Moderators can be trusted to amend the page, in the event of any changes in wiki policy, and "KJDGFNIHDTEGHDF" (and his other aliases) doesn't need to be given an outlet for his irrelevant agenda.
Before this page suddenly became a target for vandalism, the last time time there was ever a reason to modify the page was 11 months beforehand; there's no point in needing it open to for further editing.
Edited by SeanMurrayII prefer not to lock pages unless they become serious maintenance problems. Thanks to omission bias, it's really easy to underestimate the damage a page lock does.
And Administrivia pages in general need constant updating.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI agree. Locked Administrivia pages would tend to stagnate as rules change.
"Freedom is not a license for chaos" -Norton Juster's The Dot and the Line: A Romance in Lower MathematicsAnother thing we should mention is how common it is for people to add links containing malware or viruses.
Hide / Show RepliesHuh. Is it that frequent?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanRemember that time someone added a supposed link to the Dreams Come True song on the Inside Out page that was quickly removed?
And just yesterday, I went on the supposed link on The Hardcore Kid page, and I got a bunch of popups and warnings that this site might infect my iPad, resulting in me placing a warning on the actual page.
Um ... no? I am not familiar with every single page here. Malware links should be edited out, though.

What are the thoughts on using the Internet Archive when it comes to providing links for context and to updating dead links?
