If the trope is specifically In-Universe, then it probably doesn't count. You can run it by the dedicated Is This An Example thread to be sure though.

No, it's definitely a cut. Not only is it not a narrative device when looking at the entry, but Harold Lloyd and Charlie Chaplin aren't so ancient as to be called ancestors. Plus an actor's heritage has no relevance to the work in this case.
