Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
If the trope is specifically In-Universe, then it probably doesn't count. You can run it by the dedicated Is This An Example thread to be sure though.
No, it's definitely a cut. Not only is it not a narrative device when looking at the entry, but Harold Lloyd and Charlie Chaplin aren't so ancient as to be called ancestors. Plus an actor's heritage has no relevance to the work in this case.
"They played us like a DAMN FIDDLE!" — Kazuhira Miller, Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom PainYep. Definitely cut.

So there's this entry on Film.Girls Town which I'm not sure what to do with.
I know Famous Ancestor is supposed to be an in-universe trope (as in, the character is said to be the descendant of someone famous, not the actor), and I don't think this qualifies. The heritage of an actor isn't a trope because it's not a narrative device... It's really more like trivia... but Famous Ancestor isn't a trivia item, it's a trope and tropes aren't supposed to go on the Trivia page... so I'm not sure what I should do with it... leave it where it is? Move it to the Trivia tab? Delete it altogether? Should this go under an entirely different trope?
