Another edit war occured, and it's on the Sonic Forces WMG page. Horus keeps reverting my edit on refering to Imperator Ix (the main antagonist of Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood) by his full name.

This is confusing. Some people may not even know who Ix is, or what game he originates from. So may I suggest suspension on Horus, since he was the one who almost started an edit war? Reply

Suggesting things for the mods to do is frowned upon. Just report in, as you've already done, and let the mods handle the rest.

I see. ...Only, I don't know how to. Can you show me how to report this issue to the mods? I'm very confused right now...

The mods read this forum, so you've already reported it by posting here.

Thank you. Now about the whole "Imperator Ix" issue... is it a good idea that we should refer to Ix by his full name, plus the game he originates from?

I feel like you're the person in the right here. I have no clue who Imperator Ix is, so having a link to his game of origin is really convenient, because then I know where to look to learn about him, whereas just saying "Ix" doesn't explain anything.

An exception to this would be if you refer to the character multiple times in the same paragraph, as usually one wick will suffice.

(it is worth noting that you added the "Imperator" part twice, and he removed it twice, so this is already in Edit War territory. However, unlike Horus, you reported it in here, which is always a smart idea whenever someone is being stubborn.)

Exactly my point. So now, I will revert Horus' edit and if he does this again even after being suspended, you know what I'll do.

And he did it again. This is getting us nowhere. Or was it someone else?

Otherwise, I'll just focus on other edits.

Can an IP check be done on Sonic Sol Snake and Horus? Because they made the same edit to the same entry.

I've noticed the similar entries between those two as well and those are the same two people responsible for my edit war problem.

Horus is edit banned and shares one IP with Sol Snake but I'll let Fighteer check that more thoroughly.

Of course. Fighteer knows what to do about this situation.

Hmm. Well, Horus, SonicSolSnake, and InfiniteAnnBeyond have all been editing the same articles, share "home" IPs, and have been using a ton of proxies, evidently to evade ban detection. There are several other accounts in that pool that share similar behavior that bear more investigation. But it looks like we've hit a sockfarm, boyos. Time to reap.

Okay, this is fun. All of the accounts on the below list are the same person. This has been going on for almost two years. A few of them got banned for edit warring on Sonic Forces related articles, but they had plenty more in the wings to roll in on.

Yeesh! This guy's a real time serial ban evader.

Should their edits be removed on principle?

If you want. If it's anything like the johnnyfog mess, we may find that most of the edits on some articles were made by them.

This is the sock that never ends, it just goes on and on my friends. The mods they started banning, knowing who he was, and they'll go on banning, forever just because...

Holy ***. That's enough socks to fill a clothing store.

The God Emperor username sounds familiar. I think that one was reported on something else.

And on that note, should we lock the Sonic Forces pages to prevent sockpuppetry edits? Someone's going to have to skim through all the pages of that game and look for sock edits.

My question for help is, when was the first suspension for this guy's socks issued? That can tell us how far back we need to go.

Edit 1: I now know that one of the socks, Snakebane, was suspended for edit warring on a "no leak" warning for the game in this query, which was on Halloween. On that note, I'm purging a SonicSolSnake Crack Ship edit on the YMMV page since it was done today and is a ban evader edit. Is this OK?

Edit 2: Zapped the Crack Ship example and left a link to this query in my edit reason, along with stating it was done by a ban evader/sock farmer.

0-0 Geeze, that is kind of insane...

I count 25 in that list.

Figures, even metaphorical socks can't be bothered to come in even numbers... Wonder if one was lost in the wash somewhere.

For the love of little green ducks.

God Emperor was reported here for something else.

      Here: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/query.php?parent_id=53557&type=att

      That's in June.

Should we start a clean-up thread in the forums for this?

...that many of those accounts' edits were that bad? Wow.
