    Audience trope. A work within a franchise has a name like "The end". The fandom is worried, thinking that the franchise will be closed. Then the creators must step in and clarify that no, the franchise is not ending, the title is simply being overly dramatic. Misaimed Fandom? Reply

      Edit: Covers Always Lie is a closer match. The emphasis is on the cover, whereas (if I'm interpreting what you say correctly) you're looking at the audience's reaction to that cover.
