IINM, Ripped from the Headlines would only apply if the outbreak of the disease/pathogen in question obviously resembles a real-life outbreak (e.g. the Ebola virus oubtreak in West Africa
).
The Plague, by its own definition, would only apply if the disease is already causing or has the potential to cause an epidemic/pandemic.
