The Official Unofficial That Guy with the Glasses Thread.:

Raven Wilder
I've watched a few BB reviews. He's got some good points, but he spends way too much time just summarizing the plot of what he's reviewing.

I like him. he's not too special but he's pretty decent and while he has his ups and downs, i enjoy him most of the time.

@Odie Esty: I like the Blockbuster Buster (or E-Rod) because I think he's entertaining. He does try too hard sometimes, and to be honest I cannot fault others, or you in this case, for not liking him, in the grand scheme of video reviewing he doesn't offer anything particularly different or special, so it really comes down to personal preference. I think he's funny and I like the energy he puts in the videos, though I would prefer if he didn't used that many dutch angles. That's pretty much it.

Angry Joe meets Film Brain is an adequate description for BBB, unfortunately, both of them have things that rub me the wrong way.

[up]Yeah, I like both Joe and FB as people, and I love them in the anniversary movies, but I can't stand either of their shows. They're probably the 1st-gen TGWTG producers I watch the least.

I've never watched BBB, but I do feel bad for all the shit he gets.
Groovy.

Just awesome like that
I'm just not into what Joe reviews. And I watch Film Brain sometimes, but usually just if it's a movie I'm interested in.

Why would I write that?
I don't like Joe for the same reason I don't like BBB, he just sounds like he's parroting the opinions of others and never says anything of real substance. Anytime I finish an Angry Joe video, I felt exactly the same as I went in when I finished.

I like Film brain's romcom reviews, but his usual action flick affair doesn't do it for me.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!

BBB reviews soem movies that no one else has, so I tend to watch those reviews. He's generic, but I can stand him.

Also yeah, FB is at his best when reviewing romcoms, holiday flicks, and other such things that fall under sitcoms and anything involving comedy.

Honestly, action movie reviews in general just bore me unless the movie is sufficiently ridiculous.

I think my favorite FB review is that of The Ugly Truth (only because I hage* it with a white-hot seething rage).

I watch pretty much every show except Diamand Hagan because movies and jokes make me feel uncomfortable. But mainly running gag of minion getting shot per episode.

Anyhoo, Joe's problem is that he sometimes is too overly excited/angry about something for stupid reasons and he too much gets stuck on one opinion tongue BB is ok, but his gimmick is annoying because his character plays himself as "badass". I like FB, but now that Welshy pointed out his vocal extending thiiiiiiiiiiing I started to pay attention to it and he feels now kind of annoying since he also does have bit high pitched voice when he does that. Still, I like his show alright.

I still find "He/she sucks" explanations for why people don't like someone annoying :P Thats not criticism, thats Internet's way of explaining themselves.

Out of context, that makes it seem like the medium of film and comedy in general make you uncomfortable...which would make it strange that you are a fan of a site about making fun of movies.

I... I readily admit I only watched parts of the end and maybe it's not as bad as I thought but fuck you Doug. Fuck you.
I cut up one dozen new men and you will die somewhat, again and again.

I won't. I'm watching the episode right now, and honestly, it feels like he's more of addressing the issue than ending anything. Like a meta-y take that-y crossover.
okay, i saw that vid linked on twitter, without knowing what it was. i'll finish it before commenting futher

Everybody's Aunt
...Quick question: if The Writer is supposed to represent the "real" Doug Walker, then where are the aspects of Doug's real life? I mean, I guess I can understand if Doug's wife doesn't want to be in any of the videos, but shouldn't there be at least some indication he doesn't live by himself?
Newtons Sleep. Good book. Also free, legal, and online.
