Pika is the bombchu!
We really need a complete overhaul of this system. Some pages only have rectangles where the names of the previous and next pages should be, some have the same name as the previous and next page (a two-page index, yeah right), some have inaccurate names (skipping entries in either direction) and so forth.

Is it possible to have a button to reset index tabs on the page?

Ifthe names are missing completely, it means that although the index page was added the trope page, the trope name was not added to the index page. There's no good way to automate that.

In addition to what Madrugada said, the index links may not work properly if:

  1. The page is on the index under a redirect rather than the current name.
  2. The page is on the index multiple times, possibly with different redirects.
  3. A ptitled page is on the index with the [=~ ~=] markup rather than a Pot Hole to the ptitle.

Then perhaps a "How to put a page into an index" worksheet is needed, accessible from the toolbar or something.

There's also a problem with discussion pages in auto-indexed sections. For example, the right-hand arrow on the Twilight page leads to a discussion page.
Nothing is True and Everything is Permitted.
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
