It's 3D so I don't like it.

I've played a few of them from beginning to end. 1, 2, 4, Rondo of Blood, Rondo of Blood (PSP remake), 64, Legacy of Darkness, and Portrait of Ruin. They've been beaten with all characters too if that option was available to me. Nearing the end of Order of Ecclessia which actually seems rather easy now... Need to beat 3 too but it's an asshole. A very big asshole. Motherfucking stairs...

3-D Castlevanias I don't mind really. I've only played the first two 3-D affairs and while not all that good they aren't the unspeakable horrors some would have you believe. They're decent at best and I am amazingly fond of them partly because I played them a lot when I was younger.

@ Aondeug:

When it comes to Dracula's Curse, you'll have to have some patience when scaling stairs. W/out evasive maneuvers, all you can do is counter whatever's thrown at you. take notice of the Medusa Head/ Bat/ Winged Skeleton spawn rate and move/attack accordingly.

Yeah. I've been doing that and have found that careful learning of the pattern is the only way to get through it without being assfucked, but it's still a bitch to learn.

This one and Aria of Sorrow are the only games in the series that I've ever actually beaten. Well, unless you count the bad ending in Symphony of the Night which is really the half-way point. I made it to the final boss of Lament of Innocence but never beat him.

I never actually beaten Portrait of Ruin on hard mode, even though I've done the same on Ecclesia. I blame the huge amount of game breakers in Oo E.

Necroing this thread to remind people that after almost 3 years, a PC version of Lords of Shadow is coming in a month. And the demo's out now. You can obtain the game on Steam here for 10% off the $30 release price, if you wish. It's the "Ultimate Edition" which comes with all the DLC that was made for this game (all 2 of it).

I've been debating with myself as to whether or not I should get this game back when it was only a PS 3/360 title, but since it's coming to PC, I have decided to get that version if the port's good.

That DLC? Not worth the amount it cost. Even though both tried something different, it was not enough content to justify that price.

Does...does it ever get better? I played the demo, and the lack of combos, auto-lock on and crappy camera really bring this thing down thus far...

Oh, it does. You get used to the controls as the game goes on, and can replay stages with the stuff you get, allowing for more extras to be found and for a higher 'score'.
