I ended teaching Flonne offensive spells.

She was more useful after that.

Never bothered with the whole bow thing.

In other news, Ruler's Wound (D4 10-3) took me way too long to clear because I'm averse to grinding.

Except that Flonne has better INT (13 vs. 9) and Staff mastery (S vs. B). A Mage with 100% DEF aptitude is pretty good in Disgaea 1.

I finally finished Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories. Took me long enough... I got caught up in grinding my characters and neglected the main quest line. Weakest member of the party struck Fake Xenon and he went down in one hit. Oops.

Trying to decide whether the postgame is worth going after. Right now, I have one save file with the other two marked as Data Corrupted (possibly due to the SoulCalibur 3 save on the same card). Recently picked up a copy of Makai Kingdom. I'm around 2-2 and figuring out how to deal with opponents who can no-sell 90% of the attacks.

So I couldn't find English lyrics for Disgaea 5's OP, Kill Real, so I translated them myself with the help of a friend. The German part is at the beginning and is done with Google Translate since I don't know German nor do I know anyone who does. Do note that this is a very literal translation.

Disgaea 2 PC coming in January 2017, and yes it has the previously missing DLC.

Does anyone know if there's a way to affect which secret room you get in the chara world of D4 Vita or at least the odds of each particular room? I've been running it over and over trying to get evil symbol expansions but I keep getting nothing but the prinny instructor. Usually the one for the weaker skills at that. Out of about twenty runs I think I've only gotten the room expansion once and that was early on.

Good, yes! Now let's ride this all the way to 5!

It runs pretty well for me. Haven't hit any bugs yet.

You have no idea about the art of ripping, do you?

The way I see it, Flonne's role kept changing from game to game.

1. Definete case of Magikarp Power in terms of being a caster.

2. Magikarp Power again but role is more defined.

3. She's an archer this time. Bows were respectable in this game.

4. Fallen form is a solid archer. Archangel form is probably her worst incarnation due to being a cleric in a game where defense was super useless.

D2. Respectable mage. Pure Pink is pretty nasty and was the reason weights were taken away.

5. Due to welcome changes to rewards for leveling up techniques and armor mastery, defense is quite viable. This makes her a top notch cleric due to Have You Loved. Love Field is a good late game evility due to its global effect and larger army sizes. Comboes nicely with Zetta's Overload skill.

Speaking of 5, I think I managed to break the game. I'm reaching level 9999 in two fights now.

Hundred Knight 2 coming at the tail end of next year, more or less a reboot.

Started the series with 5. Went back to play 1 on the DS.

5 spoiled me with its easy grinding and the Exp Squad. I've only made it to chapter 11 because Laharl is so damn strong.

Equipment is a crapshoot. Getting the Dark Assembly to agree to anything, least of all better shop inventory is an exercise in futility.

Then why don't you just persuade by force?

Because the senators are upwards of level 200 and Larharl is only closing in on 90.

Hmm, if you have Cave of Ordeals unlocked you could grind in Ordeal 3 so that you can level Laharl up to a point where the senators are a complete joke. If not, try fusing enemies together on previous maps and beat the higher-level enemies that come out as a result of fusion.

Doesn't he need New Game Plus for that (or was it a MUCH higher level than he has? Either way...)? He's past the early point where he could have purposely died to unlock early NG+.

In any event... yeah. Aside from Laharl, the only really useful character for me in Disgaea 1 was Flonne, and that was after a lot of work getting magic onto her from the elemental mages. As for the Assembly, I save scum and bribe like mad. If you're having trouble with equipment, MAKE SURE you don't miss the requirements to get the Testament so you can at least have one good piece of equipment. And if you're going for Etna Mode, make sure Laharl isn't wearing it during the final boss fight in your current run.

It's a catch-22 in that it's a proposal in the Senate which means if you don't have a high enough level and/or enough influence... there's some advice here to make it easier.

Level 5-3 is the place people are generally told to start leveling. It's possible to do triple XP, pile all of the enemies into the one vulnerable space, and then do team-attacks to level up up to 4 people at a time.

I forget which Dark Assembly rank is needed, but New Game + is not required to unlock Cave of Ordeals in Disgaea 1.

I want to quit playing Disgaea 1 and move on to #2!!!!!

But that would require admitting defeat. That's just what the game wants me to do. I can't let it win!

I've managed to get to chapter 14. Easy exp for Laharl and making slow progress with some other characters.

Question. Is there any point in holding out for Tier 5 Fire/Ice/Wind spells outside of preference or are the Star spells just better all around.

In Disgaea 1 there are no evilities whatsoever aside from the Magic Knights being able to cast a random elemental spell after attacking normally, so Star Magic is generally better.
