Huh. I ended up turning my magic units into total powerhouses, myself. Though Hector just tore everything apart after his class change even before his class change all the freaking time.

Yeah, once they're leveled up properly, magic users don't have a lot to fear, considering they can double most of the units in the game while dodging most of the enemy's attacks with their ridiculously high Skill. It helps that most enemies are physical attackers with low Res. Just gotta watch out for those freakin' Snipers...

I keep getting RNG-screwed with Hector! He's supposed to have high stats in... EVERYTHING! But on my past couple of playthoughs, he's either been screwed in Strength (which is just plain wrong) or Speed (slightly better, but now everything doubles him). On the bright side, Eliwood's always ended up being pretty kick-ass, normally maxing Speed and Skill along with nearly maxing Strength!

EDIT: As for Lyn, her Strength is simply... abysmal. Needs the Mani Katti in order to kill anything, which is terrible.

My go-round with Eliwood isn't going so hot. Nearly level 18 and he still has like 6 Strength.

Yeah.

But against High res units, Canas with Luna just annihilates.

Yeah, my Lyn's final stats were kind of bad, too. Even with the Sol Katti, she wouldn't have dealt any damage to the Dragon. *sigh*.

I seem to have a soft spot for Fragile Speedsters seeing as I keep training Swordmasters, Falconknights and Lyn.

There's just nothing sweeter than seeing for the ballizion time how your favorite Swordmaster does a critical. Specially the Blazing Sword animations, right now I'm playing Shadow Dragon and those Swordmasters just seem kind of lazy...

I tend to go for armored units, personally. Knights, cavaliers, and wyvern riders. Hector fits, too; he's analogous to a general, basically. Gotta love that high defense... no need to dodge when any hits result in no damage.

I think Lyn is pretty good at killing mooks. As long as she is in some defensive terrain, like a forest, she pretty much dodges anything and always hits twice. Then again, she DID have the angelic robe from Lyn's tale.

Now, Eliwood, on the other hand... I think he leveled too evenly through all his stats without ever specializing in anything, so he really wasn't good at anything. Definitely my most useless lord.

This is from my second play-through, when I actually leveled my lords ad found they were awesome units. Except for Eliwuss.

What you said about Lyn is exactly the problem I find with my Speedsters. I get too carried away with massacre they single handlely deal to all mooks with all their crticials, dodging like crazy and assured double hits, but then when the enemy takes out the Big Guns their effectivity comes way down.

In my first playthrought I didn't use Hector cause he seemed too heavy and since I liked Speedsters I stuck with Lyn. Big Mistake

On my second play throught I learned how much of a beast that damn guy is. Never again will I play Blazing Sword without the Big Guy.

And yeah, never saw much use for Eliwood, he kind of did okay, but since he promotes so late in the game and doesn't really excell at anything he was kind of Overshadowed by Awesome. But still I never tend to like the Lords that start with a Rapier much.

His class up is pretty decent, though. Horse-riding Lord? Pretty sweet. And he did tend to get a lot of dual-hits after that, for me.

Think this'll include the first chapter?

EDIT: Oh, and:

This time, you can create your own custom character to fight alongside Marth.

Oh goody!

EDIT 2:

Looks like they're bringing back support conversations:

The only real new detail is that the game boasts "over 300 conversation events that affirm character's bonds". What this exactly means is unknown, as it could be referring to events in general, base conversations and/or support conversations. We'll probably find out soon anyway.

EDIT 3:

My Unit - Similar to the Tactician feature in Blazing Sword, the player can make their own character who participates in the game's story. You can choose your own name, gender, appearance, starting class and background. There are many conversations that your character can have, such as gaining hints for upcoming battles or just getting intimate with your comrades. Not only that, but there will be brand new chapters that are deeply related to your custom character. The prologue chapters follow your character's rise from a rookie Altean Knight to one of Marth's personal guard. Meanwhile, sidestory chapters are new maps that can be unlocked by satisfying certain criteria. Maybe you can recruit some new characters here, such as Shadow Dragon's Wrys...

Uh oh...

If we're playing that game:

Modes - In Casual mode (designed for beginners as the name suggests) your characters don't permanently die when they're killed. For Fire Emblem regulars, there's Classic mode, where fallen characters do not come back as expected.

Oh my god Nintendo...you own my body and soul...PLEASE TAKE ME!!!

On casual mode: Meh. Whatever. So long as I get a permadeath mode I see no reason to bitch.

^^^ People...don't die when they're killed?

Also, lol at the self insert and "getting intimate with your comrades", but you realize that's basically just like any Western RPG ever. The only groundbreaking thing about this is it's in a Japanese RPG.

^Fate/Stay Night, eat that.

My Unit is awesome. I'd pick Mage or Myrmidon.

Or I could somehow try to see if a female Mercenary is rollable, seeing as how I'm feeling fanatical about Yggdra Union right now.

I feel that the fans are going to say that Casual mode is for wusses.

Yes, every difficulty higher then "casual" does perma-death just in case I didn't make it obvious enough. As in it isn't forced on you.

It looks more like "casual/classic" is a separate toggle from the "Normal/Hard/Intense" settings.

Well, I'm looking forward to this. Hopefully they don't let My Unit take the plot Off the Rails though, there are some things that should be left to Fanfiction.

It's a plot! ...Quite a well written one too.
