IP: lower thread cap:

Threads in Image Pickin that don't get resolved quickly (i.e. that drop off the first page) are neglected as newer issues come in. So anything in IP is either resolved almost immediately, or not at all.

It would help if the IP thread cap was substantially lower (100 - 250 threads) and if the first page of IP was made bigger (like it is in TRS). IP has never had a problem staying under the current thread cap.
Special trousers. Very heroic.

Agree with this. Expand the front page and then drop the cap so that everything fits on one page.

I'd support this. I'm certain there's a large number of threads on the later pages at the moment that won't take long to finish, though of course there will also be ones that need much more discussion. I think lowering the cap to 250, and expanding the front page, is a good idea for now, and we can see in a while if that cap works well. There are currently 316 threads according to Willbyr's sig, but I don't know how often that's updated.

Gone bananas.
Another idea might be the ability to sort threads from oldest to newest, as opposed to newest to oldest. Necroing isn't much of an issue thanks to the Morgue.

[up] I make an effort to clock threads that are 45 days and older, and I'm thinking about taking that to 30 days. That would start clearing out a lot of deadwood, but it would also clog the front page with clocked threads and possibly hurt active discussions, which is why I haven't done it yet.

I'd be fine with setting the thread cap at, say, 200-250 threads.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
