Tenshi looks hungover and Shion is all "oh no, it finally happened; my power brought her misfortune and now she's going to want me gone!" And then Tenshi's all "nah, we cool. That banquet was the best, wasn't it? We're awesome!" And Shion is surprised and elated.
I have a message from another time...Don't worry about the hand, it's on the shoulder. Everyone is just really fluffy.
Tenshi herself got a hangover and Shion is worried and scared either for Tenshi or that Tenshi will blame her for the misfortune of hangover. Tenshi just comforts her by putting a hand on her shoulder and a big adorable smile. BFF, please.
Murdering time and space. Now on Twitter.I still wouldn't count a hangover as bad luck
Heart of StoneFair enough. It's more a natural consequence of the party than an unexpected misfortune.
I just figured it'd also be neat if Shion's power caused the party to turn out badly even for Tenshi, but Tenshi still reacted as she did in the last page there. "It finally happened!" "No, it didn't." is a better interpretation, though.
B: As expected of Touhou.
Haha , brilliant, it's funny because it's true.
Agreed, yes
Well, ok, gonna take your words for it... ...ok, upon looking at it, it does make sense, the misunderstanding, and so on... ...except the hand-on-the-shoulder part... ...still seein' something different there.... gah.
"Mystia is a former German nun“ -Clarste //// "[...]collectively, we have the power to destroy the Aki sandwich" -ClarsteIn the second panel Tenshi uses the shoulder contact as part of reasurring Shion (presumably that she's okay and it's not Shions fault she's hung over).
It looks like she then went to drop her hand back down. However she is caught off guard by Shion throwing herself into Tenshi's personal space, because she's so grateful Tenshi doesn't blame her for the misfortune and she isn't going to get kicked to the curb. That's why Tenshi's hand is caught mid-way, it may be frozen in surprise, and she may be using it to try and maintain her personal space or avoid something as undignified as being hugged.

Say, the next V Fi S should be coming out this month, right?
Murdering time and space. Now on Twitter.Well, this latest WaHH chapter played with Mundane Luxury in an interesting way. I'd add it as an example to that page if I could decide what kind of "Playing with a Trope" it would fall under. My first thought was "Deconstructed", since a trope normally considered fun or awesome actually became a source of trouble, but the problems weren't insurmountable and this chapter's tone wasn't any darker than normal, like most tropers think of when they hear the term.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.I'd say it's a fairly straight example, somewhat played for laughs. Shion is so perpetually poor that even having food that is halfway edible and (unpalatable) alcohol is a luxury for her. The comedic bit is her passionately chewing out everyone.

I have a message from another time...It's definitely not playing with the trope in any relevant way. I guess the twist, if any, if that what she considers a luxury are what other people consider awful as opposed to just mundane, but that doesn't really change the nature of the trope.

Some random fun facts of the latest aWHH chapter, I guess:
- This is Cirno's first speaking role in Wa HH. All Wa HH appearances before are cameos
- Tenshi has at least some telekinetic powers over baskets (
or maybe she did a One Piece thing and had a small rock floating itShe has telekinesis, there's no rock or anything) - Games referenced are Hidden Star in Four Seasons and Antimony of Common Flowers.
- Shion does not have her fire hair thing. Probably because no one's possessing anyone here.
- Cameos are: Youmu, Reisen, Sanae, Cirno, Sunny, Star, and Luna. May their souls rest in peace.
- There are actually 2 more guests but they are cunningly hidden by the camera angles.
I found mention of a video called The Reisen on these here forums but no one bothered to post it or could find it. So here it is, I dug up the video series, interested in what it was. Its creator from Nico Nico Douga posts them after some time to You Tube. They're untranslated but as to what I could glem from comments on a related Danbooru post, Reisen is on a mission to this location to recover the secret to a new medicine for Eirin. But the mission goes awry and things get bloody. Airhorn sounds
Some stuff I found today.
- New Spring Term At The Temple School. (Extremely cute, downright HNNNNGGG-worthy at times.)
- Ice Fairy's Passing
In recent news, supposedly a new breed of flower has been named 'Reimu'.
Whether or not it's true, I've been hearing it quite a bit.
Murdering time and space. Now on Twitter.Whether or not it is, there's already fanart of Reimu with her flower.
There's a link to a Japanese Huffington Post article about it in the comments, but I can't read Japanese.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.Yep, from the looks of it, it's a chinese flower variety that was named after Reimu. Actually been around for around a year, but only noticed now that it's confirmed to have been intentional
Lol, that flower really looks like Reimu
Version 1.10 of AoCF is out now and it comes with English subtitles. The translation... could use some polish but overall it's not too bad for a game made by a small indie team.
I do lots of stuff. The real question is am I any good at that stuff.Well, I suppose now is the time to actually get this game. Though the game's Steam page says English is still not supported. I'm assuming that'll be updated soon. Anyway, this will be my first time playing a Touhou fighter? Am I going to need a controller for this, or will I be able to control it okay with a keyboard? Are special moves and such done like they are in traditional fighting games, or are they simpler than that?
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever. It uses Smash Bros controls for the specials: up special, down special, forward special, etc. I would recommend a controller but people have certainly played it with a keyboard.
Oh immediately after the reveal of who's gonna be in the next WAGGHHH!!! chapter, we get the chapter? Now that's comfort! But very little time to build up some good Tenshi Hype. Oh well, let's chapter!
Oh. Oh wow. So the two hyped-up chars... it's not like they're just seperate, cute little cameos...? No, says the chapter, HERE THEY ARE, together, and it's literally a sitcom! "Don't tell me... the ones planning the party are the delinquent Celestial and the Poverty God?!" That is one of the greatest Touhou Quotes of all time. This is just the chapter going yeah, I'm wasting no time, this is completely wacky right off the bat, and it's only gettin' crazier from here! Wow
Poverty Girl is really, really creepin' me out. Her elation at the banquet was... funsturbing.
Tenshi is, as expected, The Worst. She is so horrible that she makes people question if they even want to go to Heaven, because there's a chance there might be more people like her there. That's impressive.
Wow, that is some incredible dedication from Cirno there O_O Why the balls was she the only one who came back for a second feast!? I dunno, but it's hilarious.
The repetition of the Reimu-and-Marisa-lying down-hungover-panel is really funny. Reminded me a lot of the Aki Sisters copy-paste-manga.
I have absolutely NO IDEA what the heck is goin' on between Tenshi and Poverty Girl in those very last panels there!?! ...I might be missing something very simple, or have a very... questionable... imagination... no, let's not go there, but... there's a hand, and it's touching...
...whose hand... what.
