Yeah, it's a world of infinite doors leading to every other door. A hub world, if you will. Okina's fight takes you in and out of various doors to other places.

The end of Reimu's Extra stage has her asking how to get out. Paraphrase:

"Take the 40th door on your left."
"Uh, your left or my left?"
"You took too long, it's the 16th on your right now."
"Could you just escort me out?"
"Fine, fine."

Okina's doors would make a fantastic hub world or warp points should one attempt to make a Touhou metroidvania.

It will at least look better than Yukari's gaps.

I could also see a situation where Yukari's gaps are the "official" way to get around, and Okina's doors are like hidden warp zones.

Stray thought: Remember Rumia and how the fandom turned her into Ex Rumia? Eternity feels like if ZUN canonized the concept of Ex Rumia, along with a slight acknowledgement that the concept itself may not even be true (Okina was speculating after all). Heck, they're even both darkness-related.

Stray thought 2: Aya meeting and defeating Okina is akin to a Christian meeting and defeating the antichrist considering Okina is essentially the anti-Tengu. And that's friggin awesome.

Huh, that kind of reminds me of Sigil!

Hmm, Sigil's a functional city, doorspace ("Land of Rear Doors" is just asking for trouble) sounds more like the Infinite Staircase, a transitive plane that you can camp out in if you really need to.

Or switching franchises to Stellaris, Okina's ability is like constructing and using wormhole gates to get around, while Yukari's is more like, I dunno, jump drive? Making a neat little tear in reality to get to where you need to go instantly? And once you research that tech there's a chance the Unbidden will invade?

Well, it's got snacks and games at least.

The fun thing about Eternity Larva is that you really couldn't say for sure if she's a case of Obfuscating Stupidity or not.

wild mass guessDid she say she could become the god of a new world because she's a fairy pronouncing A God Am I, or because she's a god who believes she could now do what she was originally worshiped to do? Was her calling Marisa and Cirno dumb a case of Hypocritical Humor from a fairy, or a case of a haughty god looking down on apparent idiots? Did she offer Reimu her assistance because she's excited to try out her power, or because she wanted to assist Reimu in beating her enemy Okina? Was her supporting Cirno because of fairies being united, or because she found a powerful yet gullible minion? wild mass guess

And as you said, Okina being only suspicious of Larva's nature means that we're not even sure if Larva really is a god or if Cirno was just really, really lucky. tongue

Just from the above, you could treat her as Cirno's snarky fairy playmate, a fairy with a hidden power she doesn't know about, or a manipulative god under the guise of an ordinary fairy. waii

So it'd be such a waste if the fandom simply limits her to "Bug character to pair with Wriggle". I'm hoping that the way the fandom sees her expands as info from the full game spreads. <<;

There seems to be an issue with Satono's Myouga Blessing "Behind You" in Spell Practice. When her life bar is depleted she goes away without the spellcard ending until it's timed out, and if you try to time it out Satono stays there spawning bullets well after the spellcard ends.

There are a number of issues with the Mai + Satono fight in Spellcard Practice, apparently stemming from the fact that Mai is the "primary" boss and Satono isn't.

Yeah, now that you mention it, Satono doesn't even have the red "boss is over here" marker at the bottom of the screen.

Okay, I probably should stick closer to this threat, because all that deal with Matara-jin, Kawatsu and the Tokoyo-Kami just blew my mind. Sasuga ZUN, choosing the most convoluted and complicated mythology possible.

For bonus insanity points, link Miko to the Watatsukis. Also the older Watatsuki is an alligator-shark monstrosity. The proof will be shown in an exercise.

This is what happens when you use a Historical Domain Character.

Given the parallels between Hata no Kawakatsu and Matara-jin, I'm surprised at not seeing more Okina/Kokoro stuff.

If Miko is Kokoro's "father", what would Kawatsu be? Her uncle? Grandfather?

Kokoro has two daddies. (Both of them female)

Beat that, Fate.

[down] The beginning of her theme reminds me so much on True Administrator, Lost Emotion and Battlefield of Hanahazama. Both her themes also have a similar vibe to Dateless Bar Old Adam and Dr Latency's Freak Report.

And as much as I like to think its clever that a character that relates to several other characters in the series by design and background lore would also have themes that is an amalgamation of several other character themes, a more likely answer would be that ZUN's relying too much on the same chords and beats.

I've been listening to Okina's stage and boss themes for several hours straight now. I actually quite like her themes.

I'm also noticing a lot of people are pointing out how some sections resemble older musics and not just Pure Furies and Necrofantasia. Others have heard Plastic Mind and Vanishing Dream in her EX boss theme (1:11 and 2:30 respectively), I myself heard a bit of True Administrator in the 1:10 mark of her stage 6 boss theme.

What do y'all think?

Also, am I getting crazy or is that Kaguya's theme's intro in the 2:09 mark of her EX theme?
