Wait, what's that last one?
EDIT: More seriously, it was a thing from the 80s, a kind of limited way to contact the singers Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. You could hear recorded messages and also leave messages, paying like a dollar or two a minute. I don't know how successful this was.

Obviously, she's listening to Dial-a-Song.

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984"I'm right behind you!"
"You have to ring someone on the phone before you say that. "
"Oh."
Well, she's clearly overjoyed, so maybe it's just a call from Koishi (or someone else incredibly important to her.)...
Huh... there's also a teacup and teapot that seem to have been -very- hastily discarded. Like Satori was just sitting and chilling with her tea, then the phone got a tenth of a way through a ring and she just -immediately- bolted to it.
Then she's probably all like "No, no, I wasn't waiting for you to call. You aren't interrupting anything. Let's talk!" she's even in the process of wrapping the cord around her finger all coy-like.

I write some fanfiction. Satori's Tale is done... but I'm not.Stuff like this is why I like indie games
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! Now that I think about it, almost any of the Gensokyo girls going yandere would be pretty frigging terrifying. Especially if the yan is someone powerful by Gensokyo's standards like Yukari, Yuuka, or Eiki.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. All hopped up on the gloomy power of love.
I have a message from another time...Does a 1cc with higher starting lives stop being a 1cc?
My answer to this is "no" and so is the games' answer, but in the forum I had left not long ago, most of its players' answers to that question would be "yes", due to standards and uniformity across games, i.e. default settings for the sake of consistency.
If it counts as 1cc by the game, that's what it is.
Check out my fanfiction! Not if those people had it their way.
IN lets you simply brute-force your way to the end◊ if you start with 7 lives.
This run lost lots of bombs to untimely deaths, stopped capturing anything after stage 2, botched virtually everything ahead of stage 3 and still got to early stage 6 with one credit.
See how little actual effort it took besides coasting on resources? Some Touhou players take skill growth very seriously... these same players also hate seeing bombspam runs of games like Mo F or even Lo LK.
Then let us leave those players to their own choices and stick to our own. They sound like the sort who won't be swayed, so there's no need to worry ourselves about them.
I have a message from another time...Wow. That was unexpected. Then again Touhou doesn't have much yanderes to speak of anyway (just several crazy people, some crazier than others). Maybe Junko or Mokou could qualify.
On a different note, Sealing Club Records has a new PV.
In other anime news, Episode 6 of Memories of Phantasm will be released at around 18th October according to Manpuku Jinja's Twitter. Assorted pictures can be found on their site

Besides Sanae Kochiya, are there any other characters that share her background as a modern-day denizen of the Outside World (until they ended in Gensoukyou some way or the other)? And come to think of it, what's the technological state of Gensoukyou in the first place? I read somewhere here that Fanon likes to depict Gensoukyou as having a case of Schizo Tech, where the whole place is generally feudal Japan-esque in general (Victorian-era European for the Scarlet Devil Mansion), but the denizens have heard of a few novel things from the Outside World, such as the "vee-dee-oh gay-mes" that some of the more notable named characters actually own and play with in their spare time when they're bored.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Sumireko Usami.
I have a message from another time...Gensokyo's supposed to be Meiji era, right? Like, the 19th century or something.
Heart of StoneMamizou had a good thing going on in the modern world before she moved to Gensokyo.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHey there! Thanks for the questions! Always appreciated.
OK, so, if we're counting all chars who lived in the Modern Outside World before coming to Gensokyo, we have Sanae, Sumi (as Enlong said), Mamizou (as Bocaj said), and also Kanako and Suwako. But! If you are more interested in the "Fish out of water" element of Sanae, then only Sumi shares that with her, the other three are pros.
No, that is only very popular fanon (sadly). There is at least one Game Boy around, but no one knows how to use it, that's pretty much it in terms of video games. It is possible that many chars have probably heard of them thanks to the aforementioned Outsiders, though.
Well, even without video games, that part is certainly canon. The Kappa can build modern-style machinery no problem, such as cameras, or a GRENADE LAUNCHER (!?), and at least they and the Tengu know how to use it.

"Mystia is a former German nun“ -Clarste //// "[...]collectively, we have the power to destroy the Aki sandwich" -ClarsteGensokyo got sealed in 1884 or so, but the Outside World is supposed to be an alternate future where people got super obsessed over the environment or something. Sumireko's apparently from the present, while Maribel and Renko are from the near future. The Moriya trio probably came to Gensokyo in the near past Outside-wise, if Sanae's fanon otakuness is any indication. There are also Yumemi and Chiyuri, but nobody really knows for sure where they're from time or dimension-wise thanks to PC-98 vagueness. Probably either a completely alternate dimension where technology became able to replicate magic or the same timeframe as Maribel and Renko. If we count Uwabami Breakers as part of Touhou canon, all those characters are also from Outside.
As for tech, it really is kinda schitzo. For the most part, the majority of tech is still at Meiji level, but various forgotten things from Outside can drop into Gensokyo from time to time. There's also the possibility of people or youkai making their own advanced tech, like with Rika's tanks and the kappa in general. Eientei's probably the most advanced area due to having access to Lunarian tech, whereas the Human Village and Forest of Magic are likely low-tech in comparison (I see the villagers normally being very resistant to change). The overall level of tech probably depends on how well the kappa have been able to hawk their wares, though, as they're the most active technological power in Gensokyo.

Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle. And then there was that time that Rinnosuke had a Game Boy and was convinced Yukari was gonna use it to end the world. And the iPod which stubbornly refuses to reveal its musical secrets. And some computers (which are clearly some form of shikigami, since they fail to work when placed in water)
Basically, if anyone has modern tech, it's Rinnosuke. And he has no clue how it works.
I have a message from another time...From the last page:
You mean something like this?
Wow, that was actually kinda disturbing. Well, regular Yandere Simulator is also a premise that I just can't see myself enjoying, but the video also reminded me of (insert latest school killing spree here). But how best to prevent such things is a very touchy political issue here in the US, and I don't want to start a Flame War, so I'll leave it at that.
As for Gensokyo residents going Yandere, isn't that what the Spellcard Rules are meant to prevent?

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever. Not always. Reimu isn't always above needless killing.
I have a message from another time...I wouldn't call her incident-related killings needless. The fairies pretty much always shoot first, plus they don't die when they are killed. As for THAT Reimu kill, I wouldn't be surprised if human villagers going youkai would end up causing a true Gensokyo-threatening Incident.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.
Sanae? Can she contact Reimu's cell orb? Toriel? Hatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatate? The Corey Hotline?
