That may also go for winged characters like Remilia and Okuu...

I'm just gonna invoke the Forbidden Template on this.

The For- oh, is that that "mushrooms, Eirin's shady new drug, etc" thing?

I always figured the eye's veins could just move around. When they put an outfit on, the eye goes under the clothing, then they have the veins pop out by going through the collar or under it through the skirt if they wear something open.

I always figured Koishi's power also let her do stuff like...hmmm...

She could always tell your intentions for something, for example. Unlike Satori, who knows what you are thinking but perhaps not why you're thinking it, Koishi knows exactly why you're doing something. Wether you think it's good or not, wether you're doing it because it's your duty, wether it's a trap or not. Basically, you can hide your thoughts of what it will be, but you can't hide your intentions for your actions.

She also probably acts as a living lie detector. Subconsciously, you know if you're lying or not, so Koishi can read that. Against Koishi, you cannot tell a lie.

She can maybe read your thoughts towards people? Get two people in a room and talking, and she can tell if they're happy or not, and such like that, to see if they like each other or not. Unlike Satori, who could only know that if they consciously thought that, she digs under the surface to read your true emotions on a person. It would be impossible to keep any feelings of love from her, for example.

The idea of Koishi being able to manipulate the subconscious and give you, say, a sexual fetish amuses me too. She might not be able to get you to do something, but perhaps she could tweak your preferences? You don't always consciously think "Oh, I don't like this." or "Wow, this is fun.", but subconsciously you always enjoy, don't enjoy or get bored by an action. So, perhaps she could manipulate that? That would be pretty dangerous, actually. You could gain a suddenly affinity to find fire pleasurable and then FWOOSH.

And that's all I have on Koishi's powers, off the top of my head.

^^ Specifically, it's:

Magic
Eirin's shady new drug
Yukari is fooling around again
It's a Moriya Shrine conspiracy.

Pick one.

Its a shame that Bohemian Rhapsody in Japanese Red only covers up to Ia MP. I'd love to see Aya try to interview Koishi. I have a feeling it would go about as well as her interview with Flan.

Another issue of the Bunbunmaru?

Or perhaps it'd have excerpts from Kakashi Spirit News instead?

I'd prefer another Perfect Momento myself. Aya has a knack for not getting any information out of people.

"total posts: 1337"

The most 1337 post in this topic was on animal abuse.

Also, I generally agree with the Aya commentary being cooler, although more Akyuu is good.

But then we get into the whole Akyuu as an Unreliable Narrator deal and bluh bluh.

Aya's also an unreliable narrator though.

Well, yeah, but you can generally gleam what happened from her stuff. And people seem to bring it up less I think.

Hm... I'd say Aya's interviews are more character development while Akyuu's notes are more world building. They compliment each other, but right now I'm more interested in the world building. The character development gets reworked in fanon all the time anyway.

Koishi, huh? Her ability to go unnoticed fits her well; she gets upstaged by Sanae on her own stage, and fandom mostly ignores her. Seen a few works that involve her, but her personality hasn't been consistent.

Koishi as a living lie detector makes lots of sense, considering she actually has a spellcared called "Youkai Polygraph".

According to SA's background text, she uses her power to make herself unnoticable to people. I wonder how that works.

I'd imagine it would be like an unconscious block to prevent people from noticing her.

If I remember right, Koishi's main gimmick was unconscious thought.

I also can't help but imagine Koishi as being like Psycho mantis in terms of insanity/personality.

One of Omchicken's manga, Koishi Memories, made a similar joke.

There isn't a lot of art related to it though, but it seems like it would be a pretty obvious joke to make.

Is it just me or are a fair amount of the ex bosses sealed away sisters/youkai who are mentally unstable and somewhat childlike in their appearence/mentality?

Well let's see um.

Flandre, or course. Koishi, naturally. Suwako. And that's it AFAIK.

PCB had Yukari, IN had Mokou, and UFO had Nue.

So that's half, I guess. Unless you count Nue, but she's not very childlike or unstable, just sealed. And Suwako wasn't really sealed, come to think of it. Or unstable. Just childlike. Was Koishi sealed? I thought she just exiled herself.

The wikia mentions sealed of her own accord/became a wanderer.

Nue is an exception, but then again, Byakuren did have the distinction of being sealed so I guess you can't overdo it.

now that I think of it, most of the games deal with a character who is sealed and is released, in some way. Or exiled. Yuyuko I guess is sealed, and for the lack of a better term describing her, she is more playful. So I guess Zun has a fetish to seal people and then release them. I would go more in detail but I don't want to derail the discussion.

PCB also had Ran, who is probably one of the sanest characters in the series.
