well thats it. Surfers won in this ending so cadets will win in the other, and dancers got third no matter what.
A completely perfect ending then. Only flaw oh so minor is that we didn't get some more voices from the rest of the cast.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I can only imagine how the next season's gonna go with Chris probably back in action. The writers gonna have to deal with some serious character issues if we have to go through another season with his sadistic self as the host especially after Don's wonderfully affably evil/trollish quips & actually capable of being a fundamentally decent human being.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Welp, that settles it, Ridonculous Race is hands down the best damn season of Total Drama ever, even if it is a spinoff.
I think this is the first time I was rooting for both finalists almost equally (The Cadets just a little bit more) 'cause they both played amazing games (I love Mike and Zoey with all my heart, but I wish they did more to deserve getting into the All Stars finale). So while I'm a bit bummed we got the ending where the Cadets lost, I can't be mad. The Surfers played a clean, fair, honest, totally radical game.
Since the Surfers got the American ending, I can only hope that Canada/canon's ending will be the Cadets. I really wanna see how they win.
By the way, did anyone catch the Chris, Blaineley, and Anne Maria cameos?
Don't listen to that guy! He's trying to lead you down the path of righteousness. I'm gonna lead you down the path that rocks. My brother and I caught the Anne Maria cameo, but I don't think we saw Chris and Blaineley.
Loved. It. I am a little disappointed that the Cadets didn't win in my region but not as much as I'm satisfied that the ice dancers got bronze and MacArthur finally acknowledged Sanders' capabilities. But agreed, best season ever.

Chris's cameo is right after the commercial break. He's the dude sitting on the bench reading a newspaper while the Cadets are driving by in their taxi.
Blaineley's is when the Ice Dancers take the Cadets's taxi and the Cadets have to run for it. She's holding a large stack of shopping boxes, and she's wearing a different outfit, but the hairstyle and body build are unmistakable.
Only Anne Maria is completely visible; Chris and Blaineley both have their faces obscured by their respective newspaper and shopping boxes.
Don't listen to that guy! He's trying to lead you down the path of righteousness. I'm gonna lead you down the path that rocks. So, I overall really liked the finale. I'd also join the camp in saying that this has been the best season overall of Total Drama. If I had one complaint, it would be the eliminated teams that were chosen to have lines in the finale. Would have honestly preferred the Sisters, Noah & Owen, and Dwayne and Jr. to be the Greek Chorus.
I was happy overall that the Surfers won in the end, though I would have been cool had the Cadets took it.
Yeah, I wish the Sisters, Reality Pros, and Adversity Twins had lines. But I did see Noah and Emma smiling at each other before looking towards the camera while Don was closing out the show. Nemma is so delightfully canon, even if neither of them won.
Remember, there's also an ending where the Cadets win that we haven't seen yet. Since I don't think Canada has even aired RR yet, their ending/the canon ending will more than likely be the Cadets.
Don't listen to that guy! He's trying to lead you down the path of righteousness. I'm gonna lead you down the path that rocks. Why do you keep doing the ending/cannon ending thing? Just call them both alternatives.

None of the teams I wanted to win made it to the final three except for the Ice Dancers. I'm happy that the Surfers won though. I didn't really like the Cadets.
Because Canada's endings are always considered canon? Owen, Duncan, Alejandro, Cameron, Mike, and Sky, they're all considered the "true" winners because their endings aired in Canada.

Guess since they were some of the first ones eliminated its probably a consolation prize that some got to have a couple of closing lines. Though i'm happy the Goths got to have a voice in since they acknowledged their joy at the Ice Dancers losing & then saying how happy they are, heh.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Was hoping for the cadets, but I'm okay with the Surfers winning due to karma points.
Not going to lie, I was disappointed that the Ice Dancers didn't get mauled by Loki. I thought that was going to be the inevitable ending for them.
Never heard of that. I just assumed whoever won was based on which end person/team was more popular. Owen winning was the version that aired in the US too. It just seemed like you were emphasizing this ending not being cannon because you didn't like it for some reason.
I mean, they always make two endings, calling one anymore cannon than the other seems weird unless it's actually important in the next season.

With the exception of Owen, they've never referenced any of the previous winners actually winning the money either.
I like that they let the contestants keep the money this time around. I know making the characters suffer is the name of the game, but it makes the conclusion far less satisfying when nobody manages to win the million. It looks like the writers have dialed back the sadism that hurt the previous seasons. Hopefully they can keep it up.
Now if only they'd do something about their overfocus on romance...
I just realized that the concept of "canon endings" in Total Drama is, itself, fanon, which is hilarious when you think about it.
I ended up binge-watching this. Thoughts:
- This season seemed like a bordered on turning Noah into a Breakout Character, which I guess is nice, even though it did come with the aforementioned overfocus on romance. Owen is also much easier to tolerate when forced to leave together with Noah.
- Don't follow the fandom enough to know how much of a killjoy I'm being, but Geoff's inclusion in the season (versus a Suspiciously Similar Substitute the way most other characters got) seemed kind of unnecessary. His team struck me as another one-note elimination-bait team where neither of the characters developed or had particularly distinct personalities from each other. By extension, their return and inclusion in the finale felt especially superfluous and anticlimactic.
- Wish the switch to a new show had convinced somebody to drop the "multiple endings" idea. The irony is that it sucks a lot of tension out of the finale, since you know the winners will never get more than a token reference again and the last couple of minutes of the final episode will frequently be phoned in to accommodate either side winning.
- Speaking of anticlimax, this season kind of called attention to how convenient/lazy it is to show two teams racing neck-and-neck, then show one of the crossing the finish first. It seems like it's really easy for the writer to just pick whichever team is more convenient to the plot and have them finish first.
- Good stuff: A lot of the new characters (at least past the final ten or so) were pretty entertaining. I was especially rooting for the cadets and the sisters after a while, and the ice dancers were decent ina Love to Hate sort of way.
The Ice Dancers are hands down the best villains this show ever had. I know that doesn't sound like much considering the majority of the villains in this show are annoying manipulative teenagers, but really they were great.
Also I REALLY warmed up to Don, its nice having a lawful neutral judge who receives actual karma rather than Chris who did whatever he wanted and always came out on top somehow.
That was one of the best seasons of TD in a while!! I wanted the Goths to win honestly, I feel like the win was forced. I don't want Chris back, Don made the show so much better!!
Nercoing the thread to say a new season has been confirmed
That should be fun.
That's fantastic! I hope they bring a mix of all four casts. Though I'd understand if they ignored Ridonculous since that's supposed to be a different show.

Cadets or Surfers, keep at it! So long as the Ice Skaters fail!
