Looks around for hints on where to go next. If nothing enticing is found, I make my way through the mountain valleys.

What is with my incarnations and Japanese Schoolgirls XD. Not that I'm complaining... just... observing :)

Turn 21

First time posts for this session require you to state a race and class of a Dnd/Fantasy RPG variety. This is an RTD with some continuity and I want to make sure you don't show up with space-themed stuff when that doesn't fit with the general theme. I also recommend reading through my previous posts to get a sense of how I run things and some of the things you don't want to do. You'll also get a sense of the stuff that's going on by doing so.

Rivux: (2) With the guards approaching you, you turn your back to them and then try bucking them. Unfortunately, you don’t feel yourself hit anything and instead you start losing your balance. You try doing this again to another guard, but you feel yourself thrust forward as you meet significant resistance from hitting a shield. You hear someone say, "Idjut’s gonna get one helluva bounty for doin’ that." More guards start coming until you’re eventually surrounded. One of them says, "Lay your weapons on the ground and raise your hands in the air! You’re under arrest for thievery and assault!"
B Ra Hi An 1: (6) This large amount of time skipping might cause problems in the future. You get on board the first wagon and shortly after, the train starts heading out. You keep traveling until nighttime through numerous plains. During this time, you observe and converse with the people on your wagon. Someone named Anabel is driving your wagon. She doesn’t seem to be armed, but she might have a knife or dagger. As for the rest of your associates, they are Pierre, Tyrone, Louis, Jean, and Salamander. Pierre is a lightly armored, bow-using huntsman. Tyrone is covered in scale armor and carries a large spear with him. You learn that he was one of the guards stationed at the village, known as Balan. Louis carries a hoe while Jean has an axe. Both are lightly armored. Salamander seems to be the youngest of this group, and he indicates he only joined to see the city. He brought along a sling and a few stones, and he brags about hitting birds and deer with it. The wagon right behind you holds six people, and seems to be housing more goods than the other two. Aside from the driver, three of them seem to be lightly armed peasants. One man is decently armored, but carries a giant sword on his back. The sixth person brought along a wooden slab for a shield and seems to have been carving into it during the journey. On the third cart, you see seven more people. Two of them seem to be guardsmen similarly equipped to Tyrone. Two other seem to be carrying bows, though one of them has decent armor. The rest are lightly armed peasants.

Once night falls, the caravan parks itself atop a hill and the villagers start unloading some of the goods while setting up the carts and oxen in a rough circle. A few people, including Louis, are sent to keep watch, and everyone else prepares to eat and converse. The night seems to continue on without any troubles. However, when some of the people prepare to sleep, you see Louis fall to the ground with a javelin through his stomach. One of the other sentries, a spearman from the third cart, also falls over with an arrow through his eye. Past the turned carts, you see shadowy figures approaching fast, many of them with shields depicting a golden crescent. You hear one of them say, "Death to the infidels!" Many of the others raise their weapons and give out a war cry.

NE Sgamer 190: (5) Continuing with the fight, you charge towards the crippled mage with the witch still on your back. Just before the mage can fire his spell, you raise your hammer up and swing it down on him. His neck upward splatters underneath your hammer, and the rest of his body collapses to the ground. All that remains is the sole kobold archer towards your left. His squeals growing ever louder, he starts slowly backing away from you. You suddenly feel a surge of newfound strength flow through you, and the witch releases herself from your body. You let out a war cry to your dwarven god and charge the last kobold. The archer runs away from you and screams, "Misstress do ssomething! Help!" With the witch no longer encumbering you, you manage to catch up to the kobold. Once you’re in range, you swing and lob his head right off, then thrust your hammer into its body. You have acquired Combat Maneuvers I. Your effectiveness in combat from successful actions has increased.

Medusa speaks from behind you, "Well, I suppose that was a good show. Still, you fulfilled your purpose quite nicely. Now why don’t you run along back to your kiddie fort and tell your lizard friends about our little chat? That is, unless you really would like to be my servant. Go on then, you have nothing more to see here."

The Space Phantom (5);    Aspect of Cathari Sarad (4):    You explain to the two elves that you need to regroup and retreat. They both nod in confirmation and approach you as you get on your bike. A stone hand shoots out from the forest and clutches the first elf in the head. The hand seems to be connected to a long, umbilical cord stretching deep into the forest. Immediately, you start seeing the moisture sucked out of him. He falls under the same gruesome fate as the elf from before, and his bloating corpse begins growing extra mouths all over. The remaining elf panics and jumps onto your back. Not losing your balance, you start pedaling as hard as you can away from the general area.

After an hour or two, you find yourself near the village once more, as you couldn’t think of anywhere else to go in your hurry. Should you look back, you’ll find that part of the sky seems to have turned some sort of strange, purplish color. After a moment of rest, the elf dismounts and says, "Well, Ah’ll be damned. Damn thing scared me ta death. If ya got some sort a business here partner, Ah can’t go in. Doubt these folks will take too kindly to elves. Ah’ll jes stand right here till yer done."

Rhyme and Treason: (5) You speak into the ring. The man across from you gives you a strange look and says, "Strange one aren’t you."

The voice speaks, "Right, a raven laguz. Never heard of such a thing before. Explains the bird fluids. If you’re not one of the mistress’s creations, then I can’t quite figure where you’re from or who created you. From your description, you seem to be in Nivani. As for your threat, I’m afraid you’ll find it difficult to kill me. I’m stationed on the other side of the continent. Even disregarding that, you would have to go through the entire third division and infiltrate our stronghold to attempt to kill me. That’s assuming you somehow get past the detection of the front line divisions. And trust me, with our track record, we don’t make blunders of that magnitude. Now, in your situation, I suggest you wait until your sentence is over. If they’re going to execute you, I’ll contact our infiltration force there. I’d rather not have to bail out an unknown agent. Or you could just wait until someone calls for a breakout. Once you’re out, you ought to contact the local thieves/assassin’s guild, as we’ve got our agents running the thing. They should be able to help you and give you something useful to do. Should go by the name Pan Dormil."

At about this time, you see a red portal appear from just outside your cell. Black smoke pours out from it and you see a humanoid figure bolt out from it. In just a second, you hear some slashing sound and then a thud on the floor. You hear the cells nearby becoming unlocked and the other prisoners start moving from out of the cells and into the portal. You see the figure float by your cell and undo the lock. Upon a closer examination, this person is heavily clad in an armor of plates interlaced with chainmail. It has two long, curving swords strapped to its left side, one slightly shorter than the other. The face is concealed with a mask with plates protecting the neck strapped to the main armor set. You also see a crossbow strapped to the figure’s back. Once it unlocks your cell, the infiltrator points towards the portal and then moves to undo the lock of the person across.

Lord Herobrine: (3) You look around at your surroundings. You’re still somewhat higher than the rest of the area, but the forest lies just a little ways down from the rocky ground you’re standing on. Two more mountains lie far ahead of you and somewhere ahead and to your right. The forest extends for miles until you see it give way to beaches to your left. You see a few figures moving along in the distance but you can’t quite make them out. Towards the distant mountains, you see smoke rising up from the trees. When you look behind you, you don’t see much except for the mountain face.
Trip: (1) You try preparing a spell for blasting the MAD SCIENTIST and the golem next to her. You try recalling something from memory, but unfortunately you have absolutely no idea what specific type of spell you want to cast. The spell blows up in your face and you’re sent flying into the golem behind you. As soon as you collide with its body, the golem wraps its arms around your elbows, preventing you from moving. She approaches you and says, "Where did you train zat you can’t even cast a spell right? Even if it worked, you are idiot for trying to cast spell on me. I hate ze term, but I am ze witch Schierke. I come from Anzrich of Rokkan and I hold land and title and everything. I am not as good in ze combat as my sisters, but with your incompetence even I could kill you. Zen, your guts would be splattered everywhere and it would be a pain in ze ass to put you back together. I could do it, but zen I would have to wait a day to finally experiment on you. Now zen, PREPARE FOR YOUR EXAMINATION!" At this statement, the MAD SCIENTIST begins laughing. You see two extra pairs of arms reach out from under Schierke’s lab coat and raise up in a clasping motion. "Well what are you waiting for servant? Bring her through ze portal!" The witch and the other golem go through the portal, followed by the golem carrying you.

Once through, you enter a large, expansive chamber. Just ahead of you is a stairway leading upward, probably to the surface. To your right is a large hall which seems to go on forever. The hall is filled with heavy, bulky machinery, mostly forges and lathes. You see a mill off to one corner but it doesn’t seem to be in use. One of the forges seems to have stopped running and appears to be smoking. A golem next to this device waves its arms in the air. Behind most of these devices, you see large, glowing, spherical constructs humming alongside the heavy clanging of the forges. One of them appears to be smoking. Golems seem to be everywhere carrying metal parts between machines. Some of them are carrying rectangular boxes of some sort but you aren’t sure what’s in them. Towards your left, the hallway splits into two. The portion veering straight contains several golems marching about while carrying ore. Most of this part is relatively empty. The golem carrying you and the MAD SCIENTIST bring you to the other hallway, which is concealed by a large white curtain with several blood splotches. Once through, you see a wooden table shaped in a cross. There appears to be a cabinet off to the side. One part of the room is concealed by another curtain, but you can hear some heavy breathing from behind it. The golems lay you down on the table while Schierke ties your limbs down with some rope. Shye says, "Now zen, stay here for a moment. I have to check on ze machinery. It keeps breaking all ze time." The MAD SCIENTIST goes off to the main chamber and leaves you with the two golems.

Philosopher: (6) You turn to face the crocodile and start wading towards it. Once again, the reptile approaches you from the front, then swims to the left hoping to bite you faster than you can turn. Expecting this, you start turning as soon as the crocodile shifts in the river and prepare your spear once more. Once the creature reaches in, you lift your weapon and skewer it through its neck before it can land a blow on you. Your soulspear gets stuck and for some reason it starts glowing. After a few seconds and a twitch, the crocodile explodes in a glowing blue blast. Its scales, teeth, and stomach acid fly everywhere and leave several deep cuts and burns all over your body. Some of the shrapnel has also cut into your tiger corpse. Some of the blood looks like it might stain the tiger’s fur as well. The remainder of its guts now floats along the river along with a few of its scales. The crocodile’s body doesn’t look salvageable in any way.

Okay, it's okay. I have a work around for this. Here we go... my desperation move!

I begin to give myself up when I pretend to notice something over one of the guards heads. I react in alarm at what I see and try to convince the guards that there's some sort of monster approaching us.

Turn 22

First time posts for this session require you to state a race and class of a Dnd/Fantasy RPG variety. This is an RTD with some continuity and I want to make sure you don't show up with space-themed stuff when that doesn't fit with the general theme. I also recommend reading through my previous posts to get a sense of how I run things and some of the things you don't want to do. You'll also get a sense of the stuff that's going on by doing so.

The Space Phantom: (4) Leaving the elf temporarily, you bike down towards the town square. You try calling to the villagers to warn them of their impending doom. Many people turn towards you, and after a minute, the woman who introduced you to the priestess comes forth, "Calm down for a second, we must discuss this matter with the high priestess." She brings you back to the house of the high priestess. The bowman guard is now standing outside of the house, watching the sky.

Once in, the priestess immediately speaks, "See ya came back. You’ve got the damndest timin’ ever, cause we’re gettin’ a serious case of bad mojo over here." You explain to the priestess about the events that transpired during your mission, though you leave out some of the details about the fiasco with the trading caravan. "You gone an’ tried killin’ a damn unicorn? Aw hell no! Shit, those were the kinds of things my elders spoke about. Should have known it was one of them things. Look, you didn’t do your job right an’ ya went about unleashin’ some sort of ultimate evil into the world. But you’ve done us a favor by tellin’ us. If that thing’s what you say they are, I’m not sure even I can take on those things by myself. I’m gonna fix your bike anyhow, and you’re going to help stop this mess. I want you to get yourself southeast, to the village right where the mountains begin. See if you can get their help in fightin’ this thing. The village to the south is closest to that storm, but we won’t be able to save them. This place might be next in line, so you might as well save them while they still have a chance. I don’t know how long it will take for that thing to reach us, but I’m gonna be sendin’ envoys over to the villages along the coast. I hope you can carry out this task." As she says this, she moves over to your bike and places her hands on it, doing some sort of incantation while waiting for you to respond.

Lord Herobrine: (2) You try healing yourself with your abilities, but because you’re a ghost, it doesn’t work on you. As you didn’t put much strength into the spell, you don’t seem to have suffered any side effects either. The necklace seems to be an ordinary silver necklace. You try moving yourself towards the beach in the distance, but you quickly stumble over yourself as you’re not fully accustomed to your own weight, which you could manipulate freely before.
Rivux: (3) You claim to give yourself in and then try distracting the guards by trying to convince them there’s a monster over them. Your finger happens to point to a dwarf driving a cart. One of the guards in that direction says, "Not buying it, you see anything over there?"

Someone from the opposite direction says, "He’s just pointing at some ox cart."

The dwarf calls out to you, "Ey! Ya talkin’ about me you fucker? Yer mum’s done shagged a horse! Don’t think ya can go around callin’ me a freak ya racist bastard! I’m gonna kill this fucker." He tries making the ox move towards the guard formation. Many of the kobold guards near him turn around with their shields raised.

One of them says, "You civilians stay out of this! Do not interfere with police protocol."

"Ey, get outta the way! I’m gonna gut this guy’s eyes out with my damn ox." While looking around, most of the guards opposite the dwarf maintain their formation.

Rhyme and Treason: (5) Before you go through the portal, you take the time to walk over to your right and look for your chain-axes. One of the guards you saw earlier has had his head sliced clean off with blood dripping onto the floor. His tongue is now hanging out and his pupils seem to be swelling. You also smell a faint odor from him. Nearby on a weapons rack, you find your axes and obtain them. You finally walk back and head through the portal.

Once through, you find yourself standing in a somewhat expansive brick corridor alongside the other three prisoners and the infiltrator. A few glowing orbs hanging from the ceiling illuminate the area. From above, you see a few slits hear and there shining sunlight into the corridor. The ground along with a good portion of the wall appears damp. Occasionally you can see a bit of residue here and there. The person, who originally occupied the cell across from you, turns to the infiltrator while gesturing to you and the other human, "These two seem to be thieves as well. Don’t see why we shouldn’t take them both along. If they pass the tests, things should be all dandy. Open a portal to the headquarters." The infiltrator simply nods, performs some spell to close the previous portal, and then conjures another one a few feet away. The dwarf and the infiltrator head on in. "Might as well tell you a few things. Right, both of you look like you could use some connections, so you ought to step right on in. Otherwise, just keep heading down the drain till you reach daylight. You’re gonna have to make a swim once you’re out, but with a careful landing you should be out of the city." The human next to you nods then heads on through. "Well, what do you say?" Going through this portal is a free action.

B Ra Hi An 1: (5) You try negotiating with the attackers and ask them to stop their assault. Many of the villagers immediately turn towards you. One of the other peasants says, "What is that tongue you’re speaking in?"

Tyrone says, "Damn, you can understand what they’re saying?"

After a few seconds, you hear the people assaulting the caravan stop. From the gaps in the defenses, you can see they are wearing cloaks and bronze helmets. They appear to be people made of shadow with glowing yellow eyes. One of them speaks to you from behind one of the wagons, "Halt warriors. It seems that you can speak the tongue of the holy faith. If that is so, then perhaps you are also devout to Imari, great goddess who lords over the moon. It would be most unjust to harm one of our own. If these heretics have done you injustice, then perhaps you can join with us as we destroy the infidels."

One of the others speaks, "But sergeant, perhaps that would not be the wisest of choices. Let us instead take in these people, and let them work upon our lands. I know not whether the woman who speaks knows of our faith, but perchance we can show them the bones and introduce them to the true word. Let them convert as they wish, but should they still cling to their false idols, then they shall simply labor over the lands and pay the tax. We have ventured this far into the northern lands. We are strong but have we enough strength to take a city? Should we stop here we would have lost nothing lest we hear from the general."

"But we are holy warriors! Must we leave them to their false gods? Fine then. Speaker, what do you say about this?" During this time, the three archers have moved up to the wagons along with the swordsmen and the remaining spearmen.

One of the peasants asks you, "What in the world were they saying? Why did they just stop all of a sudden?"

Trip: (6) While restrained to the cross table, you try performing a teleportation spell from memory, despite your better knowledge. As you whisper, the two golems turn towards you. Some sort of octarine lightning arc connects from your hands to the two golems and past both sets of curtains. After a few seconds, you see a bright flash before your eyes and then you find yourself in the center of a village with many wooden houses. You see many mushroom people moving about, who quickly turn towards your general direction. You are now freed from your bonds, but you also see nine golems scattered throughout the area.

Behind you, you see a large, grotesque abomination of a creature. Its main body appears to be that of a shaved bear with a large metal plate bolted into its chest. Standing upright, it has four shaved bear legs giving it a spider-like gait. Two of the legs seem to have belonged to the original bear, but the other two appear sewn onto the buttocks of the other. Behind the creature, there seems to be a haphazardly constructed tail made of some wide blob of flesh followed by two bodies of mushroom people sewn and bolted together. The end of the tail features the head of a bear with its fur still intact and its eyeballs removed from their sockets. Each of the thing’s arms comprise of two bald bear arms sewn at the wrist points, with the claws reattached at the end. The head consists of two mushroom person heads fused at the back of their skulls, such that the monstrosity has eyes facing its front and back. The thing’s eyes seem red from lack of rest. Shortly after landing in the village, the monstrosity lets out a groan, raises its arms and tries approaching the villagers and the houses.

When you look around, you also find that the witch Schierke has also appeared alongside one of the golems. Many of the villagers start immediately running away from the abomination. A few of those standing close to the MAD SCIENTIST scream, "It’s a witch!" "Witch!" "Someone get the garrison!"

Schierke turns to some of the golems while casting some sort of spell, "Zis is an outrage! Nevermind zat. Attack my servants! Rip zeir skulls from zeir bodies and burn down ze entire forest! WE MUST SHOW ZEM ZE SUPERIORITY OF ANZRICH SCIENCE AND TAKE ZIS VILLAGE FOR OUR OWN! AHAHAHAHAHA!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" At this moment, several crossbows with ammunition start falling out of miniature portals and into the hands of the golems. They start moving towards the mushroom people, striking them should they get close while firing at them from a distance. Additionally, a glowing sigil manifests right next to Schierke. A crossbow turret rises up from this and begins shooting down some of the retreating villagers.

NE Sgamer 190: (6) Now that you are finished with the kobolds, you start to head off in some arbitrary direction. Before you do so, you take some cloth from the mage’s outfit. You don’t seem to hear any complaint from the witch. After about fifteen minutes of walking through the twilight woodlands, you stop and try wrapping the stolen cloth around the wounds in your back and shoulder, going underneath your armor as necessary. You’ll still need time to heal, but this should stop the bleeding for now. The remnants of sunlight glow far towards your left beyond the strange skies above, though it’s a bit hard to see due to the coverage of the trees. From the position of the sunset, you seem to be headed in a westerly direction. You keep walking forward for an hour or two, slowly drifting yourself away from the twilight. The sunlight beyond gives way to darkness while the twilight maintains its glow. For some strange reason, the forest starts to become thinner, and you think you can see smoke somewhere up ahead. You head on towards it, but after only a minute, you hear something roar to your right. An armored bear with glowing red eyes stands a few yards before you. You probably missed due to the cover of the trees and your own distraction. About three more start approaching from its sides. Each bear has a symbol taking the form of a spiraling snake on its helmet. Most of their armor is comprised of iron plate.
Philosopher: (4) After finishing off the crocodile you head off towards the abandoned city, wading through the river. You first approach the building closest to you. The outside remains relatively undecorated, and you have to circle around to the left to find an entrance. Inside, you mostly find an arrangement of pots. Although you can carry them, you aren’t sure how valuable they are. Near the entrance, several pots have been shattered and you see an orc skeleton lying in the middle of the room. Some of the ribs have cuts on them, and one of them has been sliced off. You find a cloth sack on the orc, but it seems to be empty. Off to one corner, you find a small, wood, model cart attached to a string. A hearth stands in the corner of the building.

Seeing as there isn’t anything else important in this structure, you continue exploring the city. On a closer examination, a large, center walkway extends from the main temple to the outer portions of the city in a cross. A few tropical birds fly on top of the numerous buildings and make their calls as you wander about. Many, many orc skeletons lie about along with a few belonging to elephants. Although many of them carry belongings and means for storing valuables, you can’t seem to find anything of value on them, unless you count their loincloths. The tusks of the elephants also seem to be absent. You continue examining the smaller buildings. Many of them have a similar layout to the first, though they don’t necessarily have corpses or shattered remains. Some of the buildings about have crumbled to ruin and others have trees growing into them. Some of the buildings are wider than others and are loaded with pots, probably warehouses. A few of them seem to be shaman houses filled with masks but they seem strangely absent of some of the ingredients and tools you saw from the hut before. Some of them seem to be crafthouses for manufacturing brick or weapons, but they too seem to be devoid of valuables. Even though you see weapons racks in the smithies, you only find wooden spears and a few scraps of obsidian. Occasionally you find a carving depicting birds, orcs, jaguars, and elephants embedded on the walls.

You spend over an hour searching the city and the sun begins to set. However, you did manage to find a few golden coins hidden in some loose stone compartments. They depict some foreign symbol on the front and a jaguar on the back. The rims seem to be made of some hardened black material with notches all around. Towards the back end of the city, you find a paved path leading up to the mountain. When you had a look at the pyramid, you saw large jaguar statues bordering the main stairway. Many of the sides are embroidered with rectilinear spiral motifs. As the stairs to this place go high up, you haven’t yet explored this building.

Okay... this is gonna be a ballsy maneuver, I fuck this up I am pretty sure I will get an ox horn in my eye.

I make a "bring it" gesture at the dwarf, followed by some other lewd gesture and tell him, "You a man a ya words, dwarf, or are some ruddy guardsmen gonna make you into the half-pint of a hairy man you really are!" I, of course, don't actually intend to stick around for a fight and ready myself to dip through the nearest opening that I can.

Bah. Step through the portal and try and find the guy who can get this ring off me so I can leave, soon as possible.

I'd rather be Captain, even of nothing, than Crew.

Trip: I'm just going to say you might want to rethink your action. None of the characters have anything remotely close to an "instant death" attack, though you are capable of one-shotting low-level mooks with good rolls. Also, directly aggroing the witch/mad scientist is a very, very bad idea, especially since you haven't received any upgrades/have support, which is partly my fault. Even if you succeed in the attack with a 5, you're going to face a very nasty fight unless you get lucky with a teleport/retreat roll. You can still try attacking the mad scientist, but just realize you're going to die very quickly if you do so. I'm telling you this so you don't have to wait for the next turn just for me to declare your action null/nasty stuff from the witch happens.

Turn 23

First time posts for this session require you to state a race and class of a Dnd/Fantasy RPG variety. This is an RTD with some continuity and I want to make sure you don't show up with space-themed stuff when that doesn't fit with the general theme. I also recommend reading through my previous posts to get a sense of how I run things and some of the things you don't want to do. You'll also get a sense of the stuff that's going on by doing so.

Rivux: (3) You taunt the dwarf with a "bring it" gesture and follow it up by biting your thumb at him. The dwarf says, "Ey, whadda ya think yer doin you motherfucker! That’s it! Yer goin’ down!" The dwarf raises his whip to charge into the guards. However, by this point a few of the guards near him have climbed onto the cart and shove him off before he can do anything. Additionally, the guards capture him in the net originally meant for you.

One of them says, "This is a warning, do not cause a ruckus like this ever again! You will not interfere with our procedure no matter what grudge you may have on this man! Do you understand citizen?"

During this, you try sneaking through an opening in the guards’ formation as their attention is focused on the dwarf. However, just as you’re about to move outside the circle, one of the guards near you says, "Don’t think you’re out of this. I don’t care if you’re already a criminal, you’re disturbing the peace. And where do you think you’re going?" Just as you’re about to make your escape, the guards start moving to try and surround you once more.

NE Sgamer 190: (6) Just as the armored bear tries swiping down on you, you bolt for the nearest tree and use your speed to start running up it. You kick off and land somewhere on the bear’s back just as it’s about to ram itself into the tree. The other three bears have closed in and try swiping at you as you climb up the back. By this point, the bear you’re currently on tries to stand up, but you manage to reach its shoulder. You swing at the bear’s head, dislodging the helmet, after which the bear tries biting at you and tries shaking you off its arm. With one hand holding on tight to the armor, you stay on. You close in, lift up your warhammer and strike deep into the bear’s skull. When you try removing your hammer, you hear a crunch as the head remains lodged in the skull, leaving you with nothing but a metal pole. The bear roars in pain and then claws at you in response. You jump to try to get out of the way, but the bear slices your left hand off, going right through the gauntlets. Once you hit the ground, the bear finally drops dead, but the other three stand before you. Further out, you see three more armored bears closing in. Additionally, you see the unicorn from before stride nearby. It says, "Well aren’t you a stupid little dwarf. You used to be so strong and mighty with your hammer. But now, you’re nothing. Why don’t you run back and let your kobold friends protect you and forever you shall be known as the dwarf who ran away. The mistress is going to be here any minute, and she’ll be so happy to see you again. But while we’re waiting, I wouldn’t mind taking you for a joy ride.    KYAHAHAHAHA!!!"
Lord Herobrine: (6) Lack of results was simply due to a bad roll. You don’t particularly remember wearing the necklace in the first place but you examine it once more. You also try healing yourself again despite the spell not working. Against your better judgment, you place more oomph into the spell. Immediately, you feel a searing pain course through your incorporeal body as the holy magic incinerates your essence. Additionally, you see a large, fleshy tentacle grow out of your right side. It is covered in eyes and mouths in various locations. For some reason, you feel sick looking at the thing. You head your way towards the beachhead. You hide yourself amid the trees while observing the people. You see about four humans with a net trying to catch some fish. Another one stands away from the group trying to collect shells.
Rhyme and Treason: (4) You head on into the portal. Once through, you find yourself in a relatively small, brickwork chamber illuminated by torches. You find the two prisoners who already went in along with a caped figure in heavy, black armor. The person’s cylindrical helmet has a single long eye slit through which a single red eye peers through. Along with two short-swords strapped in front, the black figure wields a long naginata. You see the infiltrator exit through a hallway. Shortly after, the person who accompanied you comes out of the portal, and the armored figure makes a gesture to close it.

He says, "Alright, that should be everyone. Would either of you like some tea? You two are new to Pan Dormil, so before you join this fine establishment, I need to clear a few matters. One, I typically do not wear this thing on when I venture into the city. I acquired this attire from a merchant through perfectly legitimate means. Should you continue to elevate yourself through our ranks, you too may receive this. I look absolutely dashing in this thing! So, would I be correct to presume that you are both interested in joining?" You step forward and state that you aren’t interested in joining. You also mention that you need someone to remove the ring. "Oh, I was wondering where that thing went. Now I remember, I believe I lost this when the local guards shagged me for wearing this fine apparel in public. They also arrested me for lollygagging but that’s beside the point. People don’t appreciate a good suit when they see it. You don’t look like one of Beatrice’s creations so that ring’s definitely a problem." The armored man moves up to you, fiddles with the ring. After some time, you feel the spikes pull out and then the man pulls off the ring. You feel yourself regaining your strength. The man then conjures three portals behind you. "It’s a shame. But if you so wish to leave, then by my honor I shall grant you that permission. The one to the left leads to the coast south of here. Middle one goes west, and the last one goes to the coast northwest of here. Shouldn’t matter too much which one you pick. All of them lead out of the city."

The Space Phantom: (2) Considering the technological and cultural level of this village, these people might not have a conception of what a nerd is. You try making a heroic pose to impress the high priestess and the people nearby. The high priestess and her assistant give you a strange look.

From behind you, you hear the bowman say, "I don’t know what kind of eastern gesture that is, but that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. New trainees for the festival can make better poses than you." Once the high priestess is finished with her incantation, your bike now seems to have a greenish aura surrounding it. Your bike is now capable of flight. You make your exit and then return outside of the village back to the elf.

The elf says, "Looks like ya gone done yer business. Now what do we do?"

Philosopher: (3) During your exploration, you had also collected some of the obsidian on the ground. There wasn’t that much, only a few pebbles worth. After your search, you head your way up the main stairway to the pyramid. It takes you a fairly long time to get up, especially since you’re lugging around a tiger corpse. At the top of the stairs, you find yourself before the temple site, a seemingly square building with a single, wide entrance split by a rectangular column. Standing along the back, this building is much smaller than the base it stands on, and it appears to have been built with three tiers. Carvings on the outer surface feature solar motifs and rectilinear design. A rectangular stone slab far in front of the actual temple seems to serve as an altar. Instead of seeing yet another orc corpse, you see a bundle of flowers, though they don’t seem to be the type you would expect to grow around these parts. In fact, you haven’t seen any corpses since you started climbing the pyramid.

You head on inside the building. The interior seems to stretch as high as all three tiers of this structure. A statue of an orc adorned in feathers and jewelry lies shattered on the floor. Additionally, a few slits in the upper portions of the room let sunlight in. Glowing orbs at the corners illuminate the rest of the chamber. On the left wall, you see an engraving depicting many orcs performing agricultural labor and felling trees as a figure decorated in feathers oversees them. The sun hovers above this figure. The scene seems to have been painted with a variety of colors but they’re starting to fade. The right side mirrors the left, with the only differences resulting from imperfections. The back of the chamber houses a stone throne with a sprawling, tangling design extending out from it on the back wall. At the far sides, there are stairways leading up to the second tier of this chamber, a walkway extending around the perimeter supported by rectangular columns below. Beside these, you see two entryways which immediately turn at a right angle towards the throne. On the throne itself, you see some sort of small wooden doll. On a closer inspection, it seems to be wearing some sort of dark green skirt. Its hair is fashioned in a ponytail and is dyed yellow. Its face has a simplistic smile carved in. However, its features indicates it’s human as opposed to orc.

Trip (5): Glad you took my advice. You start running as fast as you can away from the golems and the MAD SCIENTIST, leaping yourself over the growing number of corpses. You see several crossbow bolts fly by you as some of the golems aim for you, but they all seem to miss. At the same time, should you look back, you’ll see that the witch has summoned an additional crossbow turret next to her, which continue to shoot down several unlucky villagers. She also conjures a portal nearby, and after some time more golems start pouring out. About three kobold archers and two kobold skirmishers have maneuvered onto the top of one of the houses. Two of the archers aim at Schierke while the other tries shooting at one of the golems. Just as the arrows are about to hit, the witch disappears only to be replaced by one of the golems. The arrows puncture through both golems, but they don’t seem to have had much effect. The archer who had targeted the golem starts climbing down the back of the house. The golem replacing the witch shoots one of the other archers in the head while the other one does the same to the other archer. One of the skirmishers says, "Fall back!"

The witch Schierke appears further back and says, "You zink it would be as simple as shooting ze medic? INSOLENCE! I HAVE PREPARED FOR ZIS EVENTUALITY THROUGH MASTERY OF ZE ARCANE ARTS! AND NOW YOU SHALL PAY ZE PRICE FOR YOUR IGNORANCE! WITNESS ZE POWER OF WHAT ZE TRUE SCIENCE IS CAPABLE OF! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Using four of her arms, the witch concentrates bluish streams of energy into the golem that replaced her. A set of blue, transparent armor manifests around the golem and its left hand transforms itself into some sort of rod with rings floating around it. With one swipe of its arm, a massive streak of lightning shoots out from the rod and sweeps over the house and into the nearby trees, setting everything instantly ablaze. The soundwave from the blast nearly knocks you over deafens you for a moment. While this is going on, the bear/shrumen abomination walks away from the MAD SCIENTIST and her golems.

After several minutes of running, you find yourself near the edge of the forest. You find two kobold guards, four shrumen guards, and sixteen shrumen civilians gathered here. The kobolds wield heavy shields and short-swords while all four of the shrumen guards carry large, two-handed battle axes. You recognize one of the shrumen from earlier, who says, "It’s that wizard from before."

One of the kobold heavy soldiers says, "Never thought I’d see a human in these parts."

After a some time, the archer and the skirmishers from before approach the group. The archer says, "Captain, we’ve tried engaging the enemy but our weapons don’t seem to have an effect on them. We’ve lost Tarif and Ommar. They tried engaging the witch but she swapped herself with one of the golems before getting hit. All of them have dwarven bows, and the witch can summon bows that shoot on their own. I don’t know how they appeared initially, but they’ve got portal spells just like our mages. They’ve got nine golems and they’re bringing in more. They’ve also got some sort of monster on their side but we don’t know what it does yet. I don’t know how many of the citizens are dead, but it’s got to be at least a dozen or so."

"Damn, never thought I’d see the day where I’d have to fight a witch. We’re going to need to get out of here and find someone with access to spell scrolls."

One of the skirmishers says, "Captain, I suggest we link up with either of the fortresses at Axehelm or Ironrun. Alternatively, we head northwest to the town of Al-Osam."

The captain turns to you and says, "Mage, do you have anything to say about this? I am Captain Lukman Abadi, head of the guard here at Tal-Uras. What do they call you?"
