TV Tropes Needs Your Help
Chaotic LulzySupposedly its the long awaited religious war with surprise twist. Religious debate via danmaku. That's not really a surprise twist as I always secretly suspected that's how debate worked in Gensokyo. But there's apparently a mechanic about how convincing you are to the village or something? Also, some trouble maker trouble makering.

The Internet is often fast and horrible.
Court DragonThe "religious war" turned out to just be a summit on the various religions with no big warfare involved.
I have a message from another time...
Chaotic LulzyYeah but thats what the fighting game is for. The various sides are apparently going to try to sway the village to their side with fighting.

Baring hearts for yearsAnyone have any advice for port forwarding for, say, Histoutensoku? I've tried following the instructions the wiki gives, but with no success (Including setting up a static IP)... port remains closed, as far as I can tell. Apparently, other people have managed... any other tips, something I might've overlooked, maybe?
I write some fanfiction. Satori's Tale is done... but I'm not.
I am jelly incarnate

But even by fishing out the right I Ps and everything the joining player would always get a "Connection failed" error joining the host. After a while of poking around with other programs and our router settings we began to suspect our problem might be ports not opening properly, since no matter what we did, every port forwarding tester would say that the port was not opened properly. Even if we used an automated port opening program.
I don't have anything against you, but I can make up lots of reasons to attack you.
Parasol Star MemoriesManaged to reach Mamizou's timeout card. 50 seconds and 2 bombs left when I died. I actually didn't lose any lives until about halfway through her fight.
Time to A - RiseWell cleared my third touhou game on hard with Marisa A, one of my favorities (And easier ones) Lotus Land Story. And the clear pic was expected, but nice nonetheless.
Parasol Star MemoriesI 1CC'd A1 and A2 in Fairy Wars on Normal. I'd forgotten how pretty a spellcard Orion's Belt is.
This amuses meWhich one's Orion's Belt?
Parasol Star MemoriesIt's the one where the Three Fairies go up and down the screen and the bullets follow them in a coil. I'm terrible at explaining Starts at 11:30

This amuses meOooh, that is pretty. It's one of Star Sapphire's, isn't it?
Parasol Star MemoriesYep. Oh wonderful, it seems that the game saved my A-2 playthrough and replay as B-1.

That happens if you pause and retry on any X2-Y stage. If you do it on route C2, it can crash the game. Just return to the menu and select your route again, and it'll go back to normal.

Parasol Star MemoriesThat's what I've been doing. Sometimes I even completely close out of the game and then load it up again, just to be sure EDIT: Ran through it again, with a "return to title screen" restart. Worked this time. Maybe I just forgot to do it that one time last night. Later EDIT: Cleared C-2 after giving up on the B routes for the day. While not nearly as pretty as Orion's Belt, Luna's "Light Barrier 'Wall Break'" has been added to the cool spellcards pile.

Good job! I never ended up 1CCing every route on normal, since you can unlock the extra stage without doing that...maybe I should some time. And speaking of which, is it just me or is Marisa the most diabolical Ex-boss in the series? I swear, those nonspells aren't humanly possible; they chew through my lives every time.

Parasol Star MemoriesI usually have to burn one Perfect Freeze per nonspell in her second half. First half not so bad, though I usually PF her second nonspell. Fairy Destruction Ray really needs to go eat shit though. I've gotten through it, but I'm sure 99% of that was pure luck. And I swear B1 is the most awful route in the game in terms of difficulty. A-1 and 2? Kinda tough, but not too bad. Same goes for C-1 and 2. But B-1 is just hate. Star's spellcards are mean, the final boss fight eats lives like candy.

Parasol Star MemoriesDay later double post I cleared Fairy Wars Extra again This time with no slowdown compared to 7.7%. Also beat previous score by about a million points. FW's score deflation is really depressing. I would have 31 million by the end of Imperishable Night's first stage on Normal.

I'm very pleased to say, I just matched that achievement a few hours ago! Holy hell, that was a tough fight! And...that means I've beaten the extra stage for every game* in the Windows era! Woo! And actually, I found Fairy Destruction Ray wasn't too bad; I captured it first try! The trick is, once your motivation drops below 100%, to just sit at the bottom middle and eat the beam while you shoot at her. It will cut your motivation to zero, but as long as you can dodge the bullets (which is actually not too hard), you're safe. *Does not include Shoot the Bulled or Double Spoiler, since these are torture implements, not games.

Court DragonSigh. I had completed the Spoiler stage of Double Spoiler and unlocked Hatate, but stupid flash drive issues wound up erasing the saves a while ago, so now I'm stuck on the oni again.
I have a message from another time...
Parasol Star MemoriesTaking a break from the three remaining Extra Stages because getting close to the end but failing is spirit breaking, I went ahead and did an easy challenge: Imperishable Night on Easy as Marisa Solo with No Focus

Parasol Star MemoriesFantasy Heaven GET! -dances-
Shoot the Bullet all clear. All of the scenes in order, plus going back and redoing the ones where Aya complained.
Despite the reputation levels 9 and 10 have, I found 8 (mostly Ran's stuff) harder than 9, and most of Eirin's scenes fairly easy. Some of this could have been luck though, since I managed to get 9-6 (Seamless Ceiling of Kinkaku-ji) the first time I made it to the purple phase. 10 was definitely the hardest level though.
For individual scenes, the hardest were probably 8-7 (Superman "Soaring En no Ozuno") and 10-4 (Judgement "Trial of the Ten Kings"), with 10-2 (Lie "Tongue of Wolf") and Ex-1 (Taboo "Forbidden Fruit") coming in behind them.
8-7 was the least fun scene in the game. For the last couple pictures you have to either spend time charging the camera and risk randomly getting hit by Ran/having a bullet spawn on your hitbox (can't really tell which happens), or charge it less and risk running out of space. Plus Ran is moving fast enough that there's a decent chance you'll miss the shot entirely. On the other hand, 10-8 (Judgement "Cleansed Crystal Judgement -Aya Shameimaru-") was the most fun. Fast paced but still doable without relying on pure luck and the best song in the game; it's the only scene I'd want to do again just for fun.
For something completely unrelated, I finally see why people go for high scores. I was playing a bullet hell game on my phone and managed to get the U.S. highscore. It feels very satisfying to have your name at the top of the list.

Since nobody else has posted in the last week, I guess I'll go again.
Got SA today. My playing is a little messed up after having only played Shoot the Bullet for a while. I keep letting go of the fire button whenever I try to unfocus.
I decided to use bombs on Easy the first time playing it, since I remembered a small controversy from a while ago when someone claimed to have beaten it their first time and people were saying it was hard, even on Easy. By the time I got to the fifth stage I was hoping for a no death run. Orin took care of that. Two deaths in total, both to her, plus three death-bombs to Utsuho, including one during the last 1/2 second of Hell's Artificial Sun when its gravity suddenly switched and started pulling me sideways.
Other random stuff:
Played as the default, Reimu A, so Satori used Yukari's set of spellcards. Recollection "Border of Wave and Particle" seems to have lost its waves on Easy. The funniest line in the game was from Reimu during stage 5.
Aah! The cat turned into a cat!Edit: Between when I started writing this and now I tried Normal too. Not quite as lucky. Got it on the second try though.
For music, I like the stage 2 theme, both the stage and boss themes from stages 4 and 5, and Nuclear Fusion is near/at the top of my favorite Touhou songs. That's a big improvement over MoF.
Messing up focus/unfocus isn't the only thing that Shoot the Bullet changed; I'm spending more time going above and around the bosses, making more use of the entire screen - at least on the attacks I haven't figured out yet.
