Yes,YES,YES.
In other news, the GI Joe film has maybe 5 things that piqued my interest:
- The accelerator suits were legitimately cool.
- Christopher Eccelston.
- We hear someone scream underwater. AHAHAHAHAHAA
- The mad scientist becomes the true Big Bad.
- Parent Service for all: the women are in Spy Catsuits for the men,and an Asian prettyboy ninja gets shirtless for teh ladeez, with authentic battle damage.
...I watched Jeanne D'Arc by Luc Besson.
...that was...just...wow... Unique way of depicting Jeanne D'Arc and God. I think I just had a revelation of sorts...

Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Oh, Lemmy. *pats* Do yourself a favour and get some ice cream and a screwball comedy; you'll feel right as rain tomorrow morning.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!I have found out that I have way too few light-hearted movies. This realization came to me after finishing the french "Oh dear god no, the horror"-film À l'intérieur and realizing that my film options to restore my faith in humanity was very few indeed. Maybe I should buy Amelie.
Liveblog | DeadblogWallstreet II... any thoughts? I think it has a premise that might actually merit a sequel. I really like the idea of the reformed. A reformed and now confused and befuddled Gordon Gekko is a great idea, introduced to a world where machines make more financial decisions than human beings. Its like retrospective scifi.
Would love to comment, but I haven't seen Wallstreet I *
On another note, I noticed the trailer for a movie that seemed... oddly familiar somehow. Repo Men It's about legalized assassins getting back the organs of people whose organ-financing loans have defaulted in the mid 2050's. Our hero, a Repo Man, gets in trouble with his employers, and action is had. I just think I've seen it somewhere before.
In all fairness, I doubt it'll be the same movie, especially since I detect an acute Anthony Stuart Head shortage. It seems to be more of a standard action flick too, which I don't consider an improvement.

Liveblog | Deadblog^^ It's a screenplay based on a short story, and it's been in Development Hell since before Repo was ever performed. The original title was "Repossession Mambo". And Now You Know...

My teacher let me borrow his copy of All Quiet On The Western Front.
You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!Watched the newest film-version of Persuasion yesterday. Now, there's a Tear Jerker.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!I didn't get to watch AQOTWF, but I rented Chinatown from the library.
You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!Watched three-quarters of Chinatown, cannot comprehend what is so great about it,

A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!We should so make that a redirect.
I also put Amadeus on hold at the library.
You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!Amadeus is great. I've been watching that film ever since I was a kid, even though back then I didn't understand like 90% of the plot but for some reason I just watched it over and over again.
Isn't it funny how you watch grown-up films as a kid even though you don't really understand the plot but hey, it's a film, so you watch it anyway? My parents had a cool video collection.
I kind of miss the VCR era. Those days seem so far away now...
Shaun Mars, more like Shaun Dars, am I right?I didn't like Amadeus when I was younger, but now I find it quite good.
An useless name, a forsaken connection.I was shown Mauvais Sang today, essentially a french arthouse picture, going by the tropes. Not bad, certainly interesting from a visual perspective, and some very good performances.
...is out to lunch.Saw Barton Fink, I liked it.
I WILL SHOW YOU THE LIFE OF THE MIND! I WILL SHOW YOU THE LIFE OF THE MIND!
Kill all math nerdsI was forced to watch Alex & Emma. Trivia facts: It's where we got the name I "Uh" You, Too. It's also shitty. Guess I'll make a page for it, later...
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.Saw The Seventh Victim the other day, as featured on the Religion of Evil page. Liked the intertext references to the Divine Comedy and it has a very morally dissonant by 1940s/studio standards.
...is out to lunch.Just saw Alice In Wonderland and Ip Man 2.
Ip Man 2 was pretty much the first movie; suffer from Chronic Hero Syndrome while trying to manage money, see your fellow man downtrodden, see a fellow martial artist die fighting the guys doing the trampling, be galvanized into action, and kick a foreigner's ass in an exhibition fight, and along the way, have awesome martial arts battles.
Only this time, the foreigners are British and aren't really killing anybody and are just insulting the Chinese, the foreign fighter is a jerkass boxer nicknamed the Twister, and since all the character development was done in the first movie, there really isn't much characterization for our hero.
Sammo Hung is the real star of the movie among a Hong Kong all-star cast, portraying a rather ferocious rival martial artist mentor with strong ties and duties toward his disciples and family, and who subsequently dies fighting for Wushu's honor against the aforementioned boxer.
Oh, and a rather gratuitous cameo of a young Bruce Lee at the end. All-in-all, a pretty good film.

Kill all math nerdsLooks like I'll have to get my hands on Ikiru, The Seven Samurai, and Ran for the sake of analysing the auteur theory in regards to Akira Kurosawa. This'll be fun.
What's the frequency Kenneth?|In case of war.
For those things that are cool, but don't quite merit a thread yet. And random chattering, and boxing, I guess. [tongue]
Interesting tidbit in the Times today-
James Cameron putting the innovations of Avatar to work in an anime-inspired Cyberpunk setting? YES PLEASE.
