You mean went rogue. Only part of the Demiurge's body is rouge.

pretty much the only singular god that shows up in jrpgs that isnt evil, as far as i can remember

is dragon quest. they've maybe had "god is evil" twice, but the first time it wasnt actually god and the 2nd time it was just an old-testament style god who when stopped from going smt yahweh, otherwise just wanted nothing to do with humanity.

DQ is pretty much the place to go when sick of evil gods -shrug-

Said God then got broken into pieces that became all the Grotto Bosses. Most of them being evil in some form.

So while God Is Good with his daughter Celestria, God Is Flawed and Evil with her father.

There was also that chick from Arc Rise Fantasia.

She was made into a god for the people, only for them to declare her false and start pulling the whole free ourselves from your tyranny (which she was not pulling) stunt. Goes to sleep for centuries, wakes up with things even worse, actually goes around helping people and gets back some hope, then the heroes comes up with a plan that will basically make her useless and has to kill her.

If I was actually willing to play the game, I'd likely enjoy it.

was that in reference to the first game specifically, where that was actually true (kinda)?

its also sort of true of nocturne, where the demi-fiend is special, but the person who became the demifiend was completely unspectacular, only avoiding death like the rest of the human race due to the fondness his teacher held for him, and forcibly turned into the demi-fiend with lucifer taking a look at the available candidates and hedging his bets on the guy who didn't have the potential to form his own reason. even from there, the importance of the demi-fiend was irrelevent in leiu of the will and effort to survive and thrive in the vortex world. lucifer designed the kingmaker situation to benefit him no matter what the result (except maybe the demon ending, which is one of the least likely ones anyone is going to get anyway), so even in nocturne where the demifiend is of prophetical importance, his failure to live up to it could have been shrugged off at pretty much anytime.

also i didnt realise kaneko had anything to do with the games besides artwork.

Kaneko made the story drafts/scenario IV and Final are based on.

that...is rather less easy to defend.

at least from my perspective, since i havent finished any ending besides the white.

Kaneko's been an idea man for the franchise ever since he first started doing art for it. He's either been credited as co-scenario plotter or least provided ideas in some capacity for a lot of games, and even produced the Radou games. In some ways, SMT is his baby.

Finished Yamato's route.

Ahahaha. Aaahhh I don't know what I'm doing. De Su has sucked me in and I can't get out.

So I went by to Nocturne. I just finished the Amala Temple and I'm wondering how close I am to the end. I'm only level 55 but it seems like I'm approaching the end game.

Like most SMT games, the majority of the levelling comes from the last few dungeons.

So why the hell can't I get Black Rider to spawn? I've searched the entire hospital. I already beat White and Red Rider so that shouldn't be the issue.

edit: Ignore this. I fought him already. Guess I'll go after Pale Rider instead.

edit 2: Apparently I fought Pale Rider too. Damn it's been a while since I played this game. I guess I'll just challenge Mother Harlot.

It was in the spot you woke up in at the beginning of the game, right? I never did this because I'm a cheater, but apparently an npc in the first Kalpa tells you exactly there they are.

So after a disastrous first attempt in which I suicided I managed to defeat the Harlot. Now I need to figure out if I should fight Trumpeter, take on the Third Kalpa, or advance with the story.

You going for the True Demon Ending? I finished Nocturne for the first time not long ago. Didn't go for the TDE because Lucifer is a twit. He sent me an email in the ending sequence going "ALL ACCORDING TO KEIKAKU!"

The ones that say KEIKAKU DOORI unless you went full demon lord?

I'm going for both. Right before the final dungeon I'm going to make two save files. First I'll play through the game to get the Freedom ending. Then I'll take a break. After the break I'll reload the other save and go through the Fifth Kalpa so I can get the TDE.

To be fair you are pretty much eating out of the palm of Lucifer's hand when you chose Freedom and thus Chaos and Chaos bad!

In the Demon Ending he tries to make it sound like you totally don't suck before ditching you to the mess you made.

Lucifer gains at least something on every ending, I'm pretty sure.

Well yeah, he's literally testing Magatamas as weapons for his shocktroops. TDE just produces such extraordinary results that he decides to kick off the rebellion right there.
