I. NEED. TEA!!!
Hi there! I just want to point out a minor quirk. Tropers who have gotten themselves known with a name that starts with a small letter (like me)and make it a wikiword can't link their name to their conributors page, because that page starts with a capital latter.

Case in point. I am "ryzvonusef" but my contributor's page is Main/Ryzvonusef, due to the wikiword effect. Now suppose, I click my name in my watch list, after I edit a trope. It will take me to "Main/ryzvonusef", but since that doesn't exist, its leads me to the homepage.

Anybody got a solution?

You can make any single word a wikiword by {{double}} curly bracing it. {{ryzvonusef}} = ryzvonusef

If I had a piece of chalk, I'd work it out on a wall, if I had a wall.

This seems to be about a bug in some parts where the wiki-wording effect (i.e., capitalisation) does not occur as it does when you use curly braces.
Don't turn your back, don't look away, and don't blink. Good luck.

oh, nevermind.

Wait, I checked. Happens with my name too. Never bugged me before, though.

Click on the blue-link to your name in my post — it goes to your contributors page.

Yes, I did make a wikiword with curly brackets, but the wikiword coding automatically makes it a capitalised entry.

And Madrugada, see, your name starts with a capital letter, so no problem for you, but me and melloncollie can't link, because the wikiword make the page "Ryzvonusef" and "Melloncollie".

The linking structure needs to be tweaked a bit, so that it counts name and Name as the same.

ryz, was my assumption correct that you're reporting a bug with certain wiki features where the software itself links a name to a contributor's page without the first-letter capitalisation that occurs with {{curly brackets}}?

Hmm, I apologise, but it seems I have yet to clarify the issue. Let me try to explain again, with an example this time.

Lets take the example of Highwind, some one who got themselves known with a name that begins with a capital letter. They go to the contributor's page, type {{Highwind}} in the appropriate place. This creates their page at "Main/Highwind". Then they enter stuff in their page, and voila! they have a contributor's page. Next, he goes and edits the Psyren page.

Now since Psyren is on my watchlist, I will see the edit, accompanied by the name of the person who did it, in this case, Highwind. If I were to click their name, the system will match the name Highwind with the page "Main/Highwind", and it will take me to their contributor's page.

Now lets compare this to my case. I made my page with {{ryzvonusef}}, which is the name I got myself known as. However, my contributor's page is made at "Main/Ryzvonusef". That itself is not an issue.

However, let's say I edit the Naruto page. Now, if I were to click my name in the watchlist, it will try to take me "Main/ryzvonusef". And since that page does not exist, therefore I will end up at the Homepage.

I just wanted to point out a potential bug in the wiki setup. either it should not automatically make a page with a capital, so that entering {{ryzvonusef}} makes the page at "Main/ryzvonusef". Or else, the system that links the name, as they appear on the watchlist, with the contributor's pages, should go to "Main/Ryzvonusef", and not go looking for "Main/ryzvonusef". Or atleast, automatically redirect links for "Main/ryzvonusef" to "Main/Ryzvonusef"

I hope I made myself clear. Sorry if you think I am making a mountain of a molehill.

I want Kat's glasses!
You did make yourself clear for me: Contributor names on the watchlist are not handled like {{names in double braces}}, which leads to them pointing to an invalid URL.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
